IDK, we are hoping our new kitten will be this size (came from the same breeder as this cat). And they are really dog like, except not as needy. But we have three dogs as well.

My experience with small dogs is that they are spoiled, untrained ,yappy ankle biters(totally owner fault). My experience with larger dogs is loyal, trained, loving,,,, even when poorly trained. Its my experience that the small untrained dogs are royal pains in the ass and most(not all) owners of small dogs do not feel the need to train them and treat them like cats. (I have met some of Jeremy's dogs and while small they are well behaved)

My experience with cats is that they can be loving, bitchy, cranky, playful and annoying. but they are less annoying that untrained small dogs.

An uncle of mine in Roscommon had a Newfie that weighed 185.

I was about 10 when he wrapped the leash around my wrist and said, "Now, don't take any shit from from him, tough guy".

Down the long country driveway in the woods about 100 yards, there goes a rabbit.

I took a head-long trip about 100 more yards, through the woods, parallel to the ground for the most part - thumped about ten trees.

He only stopped cuz I got wedged into some deadfall; he fucking near tore my arm off, then he started licking my face.

A buddy of mine had another huge Newf, started showing indicators of displaysia at about 14-16 months or so.

They put him on steroids to see if he'd bounce back a bit, and he did, but they thought it was an iffy tradeoff because the dog (his name was BARK) ended up 220 lbs.

He lived to be around 8, I think.

Not at all. If something is out of the ordinary, or someone is sneaking up on the house, my dog is usually the first to let me know. Cats won't even let you know someone is there. I have a watch dog, not a guard-dog...and I'm fine with that. If you really want to guard your home, you don't need a dog, you need a gun.

UFC light heavyweights Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson pulled off an awesome prank on UFC President Dana White last week. You may remember the brawl that went down last year between Jones and Daniel Cormier. This time around, Jones leaned into Johnson in a provoking gesture that clearly seemed a little too familiar to White.

The two fighters feigned an aggressive escalation which resulted in White clearly having a mild panic attack. He quickly tried to break up the fighters, not wanting another PR disaster like last time. White's reaction when the fighters slapped hands and laughed was priceless!

Same here. But that's because at a glance, pressed for time, i try and solve equations by starting with the simplest parts first. I do still adhere to order of operations. The problem in this case is that the division sign != a /, and a "/" is more easily interpreted in my mind as a fraction than a division symbol.

I should know better about right > left though.

Probably a lot better than a bunch of other sports or supercars. It has fully adjustable Ohlins shocks, I am sure they are fully developed and have a lot of R&D in them. I bet you could get softer springs installed if you wanted. The cars are fully customizable, they spend a lot of hours with the individual customer building their car.

Frankly, spring suspensions is one of those things where you can't actually have your cake and eat it because a damper's job is to control the spring, and that's all it can do. The spring's job is to control the body and allow the tire to remain in contact with the road. Using the damper to control the body WILL result in suboptimal results (read as, it'll be slower). This is why I pointed out Christian doesn't cater to those who compromise, because he refuses to compromise. It's the benefit of not building a car to sell to others, but building the car you want.

Magnaride shocks work by changing the viscosity of the fluid, that is the only thing it can do. For the sake of simplicity I'll just use the valving type used in Konigseggegegegegegegeg for my discussion: Shim stack valve monotube damper. Shim stack valves are naturally velocity sensitive and are basically infinity tunable. Adding an external res increases fluid capacity and allows you to separate the compression valve stack from the rebound stack without using the typical base valve setup. I will skip bypass valve adjustments here, it's a discussion worthy of it's own entire thread. I'll just say they allow you to adjust the shocks without revalving.

Anyways, to the meat. Changing the viscosity changes how the valving reacts to ALL inputs. If the valve stack is tuned for the car at one viscosity (read as, it works as it should), changing the viscosity alone changes ALL the factors in damper tuning, such as nose force, the knee, ect. Problem is, 90% of the time the resulting damping curve is suboptimal for, well, anything. It's basically like taking a nonlinear setup and applying a linear adjustment to it to try and get it to work in all conditions. I'm tired of typing so I'll close with this: magnaride is a cheap way of getting some benefits of an adjustable suspension by loosing the ability to be optimized and gaining the ability to adjust very quickly. It's technically no better than bypass adjusters such as Tein's EDFC and our ECS struts, but faster. There is a couple systems that are in fact better than an optimized shim stack valve IMO, Bose suspension (both air sprung and electro-coil sprung) comes to mind as a consumer grade product, Cruat hydraulic interconnected suspension is a phenomenal race/performace grade suspension.

As long as a spring is used to support the car, there won't be a real advancement in damping technology because what we have is pretty much optimal for damping a sprung system. Everything that diverts from optimal is a compromise.

Thx for the wisdom ABM. That actually makes a lot of sense. That said, with the advancements in space-age materials as of late, I wouldn't think it would be impossible to create a spring with some type of shape memory that could be intensified or weakened by an electric field--thereby instantly varying spring rate based on computer input.

But I'm not an engineer, so....
