When I drove to Columbus, to pick up my interior set, I was shocked at how barren it seemed, almost like a ghost town.

Haha tried that as well. not sure why it wont show up... Yeah I was going too fast on suspension that was set up for a 50lb lighter guy. I went over some ruts/bumps and went flying. I've since got my suspension set up for me.

Damn you were doing well until the crash. The video doesn't respect the speed at all. I pretty much did nothing most of my life but dirtbike and play music until a few years ago. I got into other off road stuff railbug/Jeep but stopped when I got the 3000. I just quit playing music last year (drummer), I support my kids band now. Anyway I miss my dirtbike until I see crashes like that. lol

Well I don't believe I was knocked out, but I for sure had concussion, 3 inch crack on my scapula (shoulder), cracked and bruised ribs, ect. Rode out the lap (another 30+ mins) but don't remember any of it. And yeah I was for sure the only C out there as I actually "Won" my class due to just that fact haha.

Also, I'll be moving to B class in about 6 months after the current AMRA Series season ends. RD1 was yesterday, I won my class (first time in this series) and got 3rd overall in the C division (out of 60 other racers). It only took me 2h and 17m to do 3 laps. ;) Suffice to say, I'm tired as hell and can barely walk...

A friend was telling me 4 strokes were dominating super/motor cross, then when I was watching super cross I realized they were letting bigger displacement 4 strokes run with the 2 strokes. Well no damn wonder, I don’t even watch anymore.

Sorry to say, 2 strokes are dead in MX and SX Pro racing. Local racing however "250" class is now 125-250cc, doesn't matter if it's 2 or 4 stroke. I believe the "450" class still only allows up to 250cc 2 strokes. And "Open" class is anything over 125cc or more. Offroad is where the 2 strokes still shine though (KTM). In AZ there are 3 KTMs for every 1 other bike out at the races. But I also believe they are the only one (besides Yamaha) still making racing 2 strokes.

The AMA did everything they could to push the 2 strokes out (including changing track design to favor 4 strokes). It's a shame, really. I'd pick an old school 2 stroke over the newest 4 stroke any day.

Two strokes in general are being phased out. Got one of the last two-stroke waverunners myself. 2007 Yamaha GP1300R, last year they made them was 2008, and other manufacturers stopped a while ago.

Great thing about two-strokes are how simple the engine is, and how cheap it is for a rebuild.

The funny thing is that you don't see this in Canada, cause everyone is prepared for the winter (it's illegal after Dec 1 not to have winter tires), but that would be the kind of thing you'll see in certain states where there is not a lot of snow and people keep summer tires during winter.

But there was a cost to that. The new four-stroke motocrossers were more expensive and much more maintenance-intensive than the two-stroke machines they replaced. They also tended to have exhaust sound that was offensive for longer distances, putting pressure on motocross tracks in some locations to quiet down or be shut down. And some riders simply liked two-stroke engine characteristics better.

oops, I think they forgot to mention more power out of a smaller lighter engine. That's pretty cool news though.
