Description of the incident from the biker


It was a nice day and I had to drive 3 hours south for work the next day and on the way I decided to stop in cedar key fl on the gulf coast for some lunch. Just crusin barely above the limit a Camaro slowed down without breaking so I didn't notice any break lights to catch my attention and on top of that I wasn't being aware of my surroundings and was looking to the right a little. At that perfect moment I realized how close the car got and it was too late."

"As I hit the brakes, I looked for an escape, there was no way I was gonna make it all the way to the left and go around so I looked off road to the right and saw a parked truck and telephone pole and that seemed like a bad idea so i just kept on the brakes and tried to get as far right as I could and take my chances trying to skim by the side. As you see that didn't go well."

"I went to the hospital and got some x'rays and nothing was broken! I was limping for about a week and a half and other than that, I was completely fine. I'm very lucky I didn't break a bone let alone that I survived rear ending a car at 68mph. I think my rucksack protected my back a'lot and cushioned the rear window from breaking and obviously I had a helmet too. Oh ya, if your wodering. They don't steer well on the brakes... He just didn't have the experience to deal with the situation. He's really lucky to be alive. I don't care if you're on a dirt bike, street bike, or bicycle, if you have to avoid an obstacle, you need to get off the brakes just long enough to make your maneuver, then you can drop anchor. Braking and turning is an either/or decision on two wheels, you don't get both...

Reminds me of changing the headlight on my mom's Caliber. The bumper doesn't have to come off, but I think it would be easier. The first time I did it it took me over 3 hours. You are supposed to jack the car up, take the tire off, take off the wheel well plastics, then fish your hands up through a tiny hole to get to the bulb.

She had had new tires put on the week or so before and the tech overtightened the fuck out of the lug nuts. I started stripping the "chrome caps" off the factory lugs. Had to beat a socket onto each lug nut, use a 4' cheater pipe to break them loose, put the socket in the vice and beat the lug nut back out, and repeat.

One bolt holds the headlight in my Grand Prix. Remove bolt, pull up on little metal arm, voila.

Plus tats that big don't feel the best. I have a large dragon tat that starts on my front left Pectoral, goes over my shoulder and down my back. Purpose built drag cars are impressive but are akin to a wrench you have to bend and cut to remove one pesky bolt (like a turbo bolt on a TD05 kit), they are great at what they were designed for but fail at being as good as a normal equivalent at pretty much everything else.

It is no happy accident that European car makers consistently push for balanced driving machines over straightline monsters. Our approach of shoving a big inefficient engine into a car that has laughable suspension technology isn't something that the others can't do or didn't think to do. It is something they chose not to do.

As a guitarist, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so ...the service was to be at a pauper’s cemetery in the back country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost.

I'm sure the bikes closed the highway several times and the cage got pissed......reminds me of "Ride of the century" we have here every year. If was you watch the start of the vid close you can see a spot where a rider right in front of the SUV comes almost to a stop. Bets the SUV hit that rider. If thats right its the riders fault. SUV driver should have called the cops when the bikes were mobbing him and not run some of them over.
