See Carroll v. United States. This has already been ruled on, not sure what the difference is here. Basically because it's a mobile vehicle, the evidence can be moved and destroyed before a warrant can be issued, which allows officers with probable cause to search without a warrant.

I brought this up to Alan last night. He said try changing your settings to 40 posts per page. I don't think that's the solution...there's something going on. Either a person on GI screwing up the pages, or something buggy with the forum. FTR, I did nothing and this thread loaded for me this morning.

And I'm sure that's really the root cause, not a poorly locked gun-safe at his parent's/friends/etc. home. Of course, we don't have details on WHERE those guns came from--but we're going to "jump the gun" and blame guns for this--rather than the pitiful and pathetic excuse for a human being that this little shitstain was. Of course, if we didn't water down the standards & hand out participant trophies to everyone--this fuckwad wouldn't have even made it to college.

Oh, and let's not even forget that he had 3 semi-automatic handguns with him. NOT ASSAULT RIFLES. Gee, that didn't stop or curtail the level of violence (half of which was done via stabbings, mind you). I'm sure that little detail will get neatly swept under the rug.

What's the cause? Well entitlement is the big one. Other causes? A society that sensationalizes mass-murder as opposed to treating it like the bane of society that it is. Media that sensationalizes murder (I don't blame video games, I blame a lot of the "I'm pop a cap in yo ass" mindset/music that has grown to be an accepted part of our culture--rather than an abhorrent mindset we should be fearing. But for their part, I'm sure with the irresponsible parents he had, he probably had judicious access to lots of various ADULT ORIENTED media--didn't help. And lastly, no armed responders except for the police.
