Alex can probably explain it much better but essentially the triple point is temperature & pressure at which a substance is in all three phases (gas/liquid/solid).

Here is a typical Pressure vs. Temperature diagram for water. What we're used to seeing in thermo is Temperature versus Specific Enthalpy or Pressure versus Specific Enthalpy with constant Pressure curves drawn across the former and constant Temperature curves drawn across the latter. On a water P v h or T v h diagram you would see a "vapor dome" where basically you maintain a constant temperature until all of your liquid has boiled or all of your vapor has condensed.

Anyways, when playing around with temperature and pressure you reach the "Triple Point" where all three phases of matter simultaneously exist. The reason you are seeing the matter in the video go from solid to liquid to gas and back again is because the temperature and pressure combination inside the pressure vessel is likely dancing around the triple point.

This concept seems unreal to us because we're used to the more terrestrial 1 bar (red horizontal line in the graph above) pressure zone where we're used to seeing ice and water together or water and vapor together but never all three simultaneously. As you see in the graph above, drop the pressure down to about 1/100th of an Earth atmosphere and hit 0C and magic starts to happen!

I think both are at fault legally (him for speed, her because with a car coming straight she didn't have the right away), but that has seemed get overlooked.


IMO, He was hauling ass, but the other car definitely came out across the lines into the far lane when he clipped her. That said, looked like he was still getting over at that time as well, so even had she been in her proper lane, no telling if that still would've prevented the accident. Had she not pulled out at all (which would've been the right thing to do given that she was turning and he was going straight,) there would've been no accident.

Unless it lands in court for a decision, it goes by the investigating officer's determination, and the financial responsibility may be determined by the insurance adjusters. If the investigator(s) determine that the speed was a factor in the wreck, then you most certainly can be held accountable.

i agree. "pulling out in front" of someone is relative to the speed the oncoming vehicle is traveling at. if the speed limit is 30 and there's a guy tooling along at 65, it's quite possible that many drivers are "going to pull out in front of him" because his closing speed is way, way too fast for said road.

(Marc Lowry is more of a pure christian comedian.) What Warnke shares is is life story, his experiences, and tries to explain about satanism and help people better understand it. That video was clearly very abbreviated and not exactly spliced in the best of manners--the transitions are atrocious.

Feel free to judge the man however you'd like (mustache, earring, etc)...but at least know what he was trying to do.

Unfortunately a lot was the way electronics had changed. The it breaks and you throw it away times. I remember when the place was pretty much nothing but parts. You could build anything from what was in there, it was awesome! But the way things were made changed. No longer did a VCR cost 800-2000 bucks so no need to repair. Just buy a new one. No doubt they had a big hand in their demise though.

I would agree, nick. Between 1900 and 1990, there were advancements, but you still did things quite old fashioned. You called your friends on a landline. You went to their houses in person. Pictures were only taken with dedicated cameras. Information had to be gleaned from books and atlases. But after the internet, all you need is to google something. That's a HUGE change.

I do agree though, women's soccer is superior to the men's. They treat injuries about the same way NHL players do. I still prefer football (or hand-egg ball as it were) to soccer, but I enjoy both. Outside of the constant faking by men's soccer players.
