HI - Nice forum - I have a 92 VR4 - that is currently not starting.. trying to open the pdf on the starter relay - so I can see which two pins to jumper - to get her started .. thanks.
Bill.
PS - you all RULE.. jumper pin 1 and 3 - started right up ... :) (I almost feel like a mechanic - lol - sweet !).
quick story.. car was not starting right.. click - thought it was neutral switch - but generally would start.. but having clutch problems.. ended up when would start - no clutch .. when off, I had clutch - so tried to bleed the clutch .. ended up sending to shop - clutch master cly replaced - picked up today .. drove back to work .. would NOT start tonight.. I was stuck - banged the relay .. nope - nothing .. you all fixed it and now I can get to work tomorrow :) - thanks !

Kick ass forum, wish I found it earlier. Name is Tim, own a 93 VR4, motors in pieces from broken ring lands :( ... and its my second VR4. I do all my own work like many others here. Im a glutton for punishment and bloody knuckles on this car I guess. Rebuilding my motor slowly as funds/time allows. Looking forward to meeting some of the Delaware 3S community and sharing the love for this platform!

Hey everyone, new to the forum.
Name is Nick and from the Pittsburgh, PA area. Looking to get some insight on the 3000GT VR-4 as I'm desperately searching for the one for me. I have a few in the area I'm looking at but, unsure what to look for during inspection.
I wanted this car since I was 19 (4 years ago). Ended up getting a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 which I still have but, I still want to be an owner of a 3000GT.
imho, the srt-6 is a poor excuse of a car (no offense).

I will agree and disagree.
New they were way over priced for what you got. But, used the price becomes reasonable add few mods they are not that bad.

Hi, my name is John, I am from the UK an bought a Silver 91 TT about a month ago. Love the car to bits and am just slowly starting to mod it and get a bit more power in it. I came across this site from a link on gtooc.co.uk.
I'm not brilliant with mechanics, slightly better with electronics, but if there is anything I can help out with or give advice on I will do my best.
Cheers,
John.

Hey, Brian here. I bought a stock '93 VR4 project car a few months ago and have been slowly trying to fix it up. She runs well enough but won't be winning any beauty pageants. I figure that buying a POS and doing some work would prep me for when I upgrade to one with more power and a little nicer looking. I am a total noob when it comes to these cars and turbos in general so I will apologize now for the dumb questions I am sure to ask. Thanks in advance for any help you guys might give.

Well not only the T Case but I'd like to learn what it takes to put 400hp to the ground, So making around 500 at the crank.
I had a vette that put 455HP to the wheels, that was a fun toy, the wife hated it, it was: too loud, too stiff, too quick, too cool, to cramped. So i sold it to avoid getting in arguments. now i need a new toy.
I'm sure its possible to make 500HP at the crank I just need to learn what it takes to do so reliably.

Hello everyone, I am Chris from North Carolina. I have been a member of 3SI for awhile now and decided to register here to expand my knowledge base esp with the GTO's. I have 2 3000GT's, a 94 and 96 VR4. The 94 was my first car which I plan to one day rebuild and I just got my 96 back in April of last year. I plan to moderatly modify the 96. I plan to do this slowly and tastefully as to not take away from what the car was originally meant to be. I am looking foward to being a member here

Just want to introduce myself and share my experience with my newly purchased '95 StealthTT with 62k original miles. I bought it from an older gentleman and it just had a K&N and borla exhaust.
I've been a Supra owner for ~11 yrs and I've owned many other Jap Turbo cars, I've always loved the 3S's, I found a good deal on this car that needed a clutch, so here are some of the things I am doing. I'm also going to give the car/headlights a good buff, '99 front bumper w/ turns & FMIC down the road.
**MOD LIST**
-SouthBend Stage 3 (Thanks to Brandon from IPS)
-RPS Segmented Lightweight Flywheel
-DN Rear Pre-Cat Elim
-OBX Downpipe/Testpipe
**THINGS I AM REPLACING WHILE DOING CLUTCH**
-Rear main seal
-Rear Pre-Cat (so much easier to get this off while you have the tranny out)
-Fuel Filter
-Amsoil MTL Trans/T-Case
-Oil change
-Downpipe
-Passenger Axle C-Clip (part # MB620144 via http://www.partswebsite.com/cherryhilltriplex)

Hi, I'm Ewan aka chooch on 3si, GTOUK & GTOOC,
I've had a GTOTT since January 2005, my first one was pearl white, which was lovely, which I spent a fortune on among other things upgrading 9b - 13g. Then I bought a 15g Blue car in 2008 to save the hastle of waiting for parts, but that took a bit of modifying to get reasonable power (440) having binned a emanage blue and MAP2ECU and have settled on a VIPEC plug n play. I'm currently entering the realm of single turbos...
Hope to see you on the boards..

As a new user to this forum their are a few things you should know to make your time here easier.
Post Grammar
While a majority of the forum's user base is located in the US a large portion of our community is not. These members may or may not speak English as their first language. These people may have the answers to your questions. Because of these factors please do your best use proper English when posting. While using slang and internet slang may make is faster to post it will reduce your chances of getting your question answered.
Basic Automotive Knowledge
This is an enthusiast forum before you start asking how to modify your 3S you should have a working basic knowledge of auto mechanics. If you ask something basic like "Whats oil pressure?" or "How do I change my oil?" expect a less then pleasant response. If your lacking basic knowledge try some sites like HowStuffWorks "Auto" (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/)
Stickies and Announcements
At the top of each forum you will find informational posts and announcements. Make sure to read these as they will contain information you need to read. Failure to read these topics could result in a suspension for breaking a rule or public ridicule.
Rules
The forum rules are enforced strictly and without warning. Read the rules before posting. The Forum Rules (http://www.3sgto.org/rules.php)(The rules as posted are just guidelines and are not finalized yet.)
Signatures, Avatars and Private Messaging
These features are not enabled until you have been here for a while.
Selling via the Classifieds sections
YOu can find the "classifieds" but clicking the "Sales/Sponsor" button on the menu bar. Their are stickies and announcements in the classifieds section explaining what you will need to do to sell here.
Forum colors
While the default color scheme is Dark it is not your only option. Their is a light style as well. You can change your personal default in the user setting (http://www.3sgto.org/profile.php?do=editoptions). You can also change them on the fly via the drop down in the lower left corner of every page.
Administrators and Moderators.
A who's who of the important people can be found in the "Forum Leaders" link that can be found on the main forums page. A simple way to identify A member of the moderation team is the color of their name. RED is for Admins and Forum moderators Green is for Sectional moderators.
Its a good idea to pay attention to these people ignoring them can be bad for you.
Site Supporters
While 3SGTO.org does have the option for you to become a paid Site Supporter. We do not require that you pay to use the site. If you enjoy the site and want to help support it, its is $10 per year. Their are links for becoming a site supporter in your settings pages. http://www.3sgto.org/payments.php

Please review these resources then reply to this thread and tell us about yourself. Within about 15 minutes after you've posted the rest of the forum will be open to you.

Hey everybody! My name is Joe. I have a 95 SL that I did an auto to manual swap on. I have been an active member on 3si.org for quite awhile and to make a long story short, I decided to try another forum. I finally am graduating college in May and will be moving to L.A. where I have a job lined up. Born and lived in Chicago for 12 years then moved near Green Bay and I currently go to school in Platteville, WI. Finally, I will have some money for my project ideas which include a twin evo 3 setup plus AWD conversion. I know everybody will tell me not to do it but I have a close friend that did an AWD and an AT to MT conversion in an Eclipse Spyder, so I have some backup. My current issue I will be working on and hopefully creating and posting a guide to is getting all the wiring correct for the auto to manual swap regarding the clutch pedal relative to the starter as well as getting the cruise control working after the swap. As far as I know, it is something that people just let go when doing the AT/MT swap and have never been able to find an answer to it. I'll be attempting to solve that problem shortly, assuming there is not a thread concerning and solving this already.

awd converting a dsm is NOTHING like awd converting a 3/s. you're in for a world of hurt if you think there's any kind of correlation there. you're talking essential bolt-on vs. modifying the frame. apples and oranges.
and yes, you should sell it now and buy a vr4. awd/tt CONVERSION owner speaking from experience.

there's two ways you can get the radio to reset to where you can enter codes. if memory serves, you either have to disconnect the battery for a certain length of time, or you have to leave the key in the accessory position for an hour or so (it's been a LONG time since i had to do this). make sure you pull the radio out so you can get the serial number off it. giving that serial number to a mitsubishi dealership is the easiest way to get the code to unlock it.
transmission noise (especially on ATX) can certainly be a problem with fluid being too low. if you have a manual, it could be that a bolt has worked itself loose, or something else. either way, if the previous owners did NOT properly maintain the transmission, you might very well ending up having to rebuild/replace it. mitsubishi's transmissions are very reliable--provided they are well maintained. if maintenance was skimped on, catastrophic problems can result. the same holds true for the engines as well. this is a large part of the reason why mitsubishi has a word-of-mouth record of being "unreliable". people expect that you can just run the car into the ground in maintenance free bliss, just like you could do with a small block chevy and an old 3-speed POS hydramatic. take good care of it, and it will take good care of you. just be prepared to un-f**k everything that the previous owners may have done to it.

(Assuming you have ATX) not gonna happen unless you swap EVERYTHING over. even then, i don't know if it will work. 94's require same-year replacements. mtx's...should be plug & play.

MTX isn't exactly plug and play. Remember 91 and 92 had the smaller diff so they had smaller axles. 93-99 MTX in a 92 would need the larger axles. Thankfully they are easier to source than the 91-92 axles.

I'm Tim (some know me as Alan), into all dsm's, but the 3kgt is my baby! In the Atlanta area. Have a shop as well in Woodstock were we do a lot of custom fab stuff. Hopefully mine will be up this year so I can show a little of what we do.

You say you are into all DSM's, well 3000GT's and Stealth's are NOT DSM's.
Something you should keep in the back of your mind for future reference. ;)

Long-time member of the 3S community, but get on the forums rarely anymore. I have the bug again and I'm here to see what's new. I still have my 92 TT and thinking about upgrades.

I'm JD. I have a '91 3000GT VR4 with a built motor and lots of goodies. I am working on an iPhone/iPad gauge project. Kinda like AEM's X-WiFi, but much more awesomer. ;)

i want to see your results. the idea of replacing my gauge cluster with an LCD screen came to me about 6 years ago...i just never had the capability to even begin to get it off the ground. i keep hoping for solid aftermarket option--one that doesn't leave my car open to hackers.

this is the TRUE home of the 3/s community. we don't censor other website addresses over here because of draconian profiteering by corporate shills who know nothing of the community and have zero concern for its members. we can type 3si.org just as easily as we can say that :corey:-b is a :bitch:

I'm a super senior on 3si, but a newb here. Does this mean I need to revert to my 3si newb ways? I could start bench racing, asking what my hp is, and let everyone know how much I know about cars! Maybe even get into some arguments about how my car is faster than a camaro?
