My names Sal. I'm new to the 3s community in the metro Detroit area. I recently purchased a 91 stealth rt tt and I have actually met some folks here at the most recent Dave and Busters gathering. Good to be here.

Cool video rules posting Dude. I've a 1995 VR-4 that still looks good and performs well. I love it for drives in the Rockies - I live in the Denver Metro. I'm semi-retired but still hang my hat in telecommunications and electronics. I also have a 1991 Stealth no9n-=turbo - it's my mountain dirt road car for when I go backpacking in some remote area and my winter car.

Hi all, newbs to to this form, however been in the 3S community for over 10 years. Wondered why we hadn't come sooner! 91 RT and 91 RT TT Stealths. Just finished a rebuild on the TT, going to the dyno next week. Expecting somewhere in the 500AWHP range (i hope, as long as my mechanical abilities are as good as i hope they are). I am an engineer by day, and have pretty good insight into this platform, so i'll help where i can!

Bought my Stealth in 2004 from the original owner. Since then I've driven it in the summers. It is a 1995 TT 6 speed with 150,000klm and is one of a few red ones produced in 95. It is a lot of fun to drive and a great highway cruiser giving me 30MPG. After 10 years I now have an issue storing it for the winter so next spring I am going to see about selling it. Until then I look forward to read the entries here to see what others are doing with their cars.

I have a 94' Stealth that I have had for 12 years. I just picked up a 92' with only 48k on the engine. I've loved this platform
So much that I bought my own shop 7 years ago to house my baby. The 94' is going to have 1000+ hp and the 92 will remain as unmolested as it came from the factory (hopefully). I did develop a new downpipe for the platform and have yet to put it on my Dynojet. I'm in the northern Virginia area if anyone needs a good tuner or dyno pulls.

Hi,

I own a 97 3000 VR4. Just had someone rebuild the engine, upgrade turbos, FMIC, exhaust and etc. Just picked the car up and a couple of things ring out to me. I am looking for a shop in the Northern VA area to validate/tune my car. I have some misgivings on the work that was performed. Was able to drive the car, but somethings still don't feel right. Can anyone help?

Mostly stock as she sits now, getting ready to throw a clutch in and go through the tranny soon, probably gonna go through the motor while I'm in there as well. Thought now would be as good a time as any to finally get myself onto a forum haha. I also have a lot of parts from a '92 TT Stealth I'm looking to sell to help fund my rebuilds a bit. Hello after spending the last year just reading posts on this site I have finally made an account. I bought my 1992 Stealth (R/T TT black) back in October of 2005. I was 17 at the time and I had previously worked on DSM's. After building a few DSM's I decided it was time to buy the car I had always wanted. I found the car in Monroeville at the time it had 120,000 miles and was 100% stock. The car itself was in excellent shape, no dings or dents. Interior was flawless and I paid $7,100. I drove the car for about a year and the water pump started to leak ( It was time for the 120k service ). When I started the service I found that the front turbo was blowing oil. Well I thought time for forced upgrades. I had already been putting money away for performance parts so what a better time than now. That was the time IPS had just developed there single turbo kit. Well long story short ( after spending right around $15k on parts from them ) I waited a little longer than 3 years for parts from IPS ( I have my story about that on the "other site" ). I eventually sent what little parts I received back to them. After that time life came along and I didn't have time to put the car back together or motivation I was pretty upset as anyone could imagine. But now I'm finally going to start rebuilding and I've been without the car this long I can wait and make sure I have everything powder coated that I want. Being as I don't have money for a forged motor ( Our Son is 1 and our Daughter is due in July) now I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do about turbos as I sold the stock ones way back when. But anyway my car is still in great shape so I want to get the ole girl back together and finally enjoy it.

Some of my DSM's include, 1997 Talon AWD that was my daily while my stealth was apart. It ran consistent 11.8's. Stock 7 bolt, DSM Link, Front mount, small 16g and a 5 deg clip on the hot side, 550's. Sold it back in 2011.
1992 GSX. Link, 3076, all the supporting mods. Ran 11.2's I only ran her a few times and was never able to work and getting traction. Sold in 2007
Those were my fun ones. I have also owned stock 95 Talon AWD, and a 1999 GSX. I built a 1992 Talon for my buddy. It was just a evo3 16g car. He ran high 12's with it.

That's about it I can say just reading on this forum is so much nicer than the "other site".

Hi! I recently picked up a 92 Stealth TT. It had sat for a while before I got it. It had Bulliit Mustang wheels on it, that I swapped for Evo 8 wheels. I swapped plugs and the oil thus far. I need to the coolant soon. I added a mech boost gauge and was getting only 5psi so I added a manuel boost controller. Its back up to 14/15psi. I've painted rusty wiper arms and the rear roof garnish, clean off 2 years worth of pine straw and washed it. I swapped out the factory tape desk and cd player with a digital media receiver. 22 year old paper speakers suck. Ive driven it to work twice, im waiting for a new/used digital climate control (should be here today) and a set of speaker replacements. It has 187K miles with service done at the right times. I plan on doing a 120k for my own piece of mind soon. All of the bushings/mounts look like they are 22 years old. So its gonna be my DD until something breaks, or i get some parts all in to replace them. I bought it for $1800 and have already been offered $4k (im probably dumb for not taking it) but I plan on tinkering with it until either I run out of money or it cant be fixed. $ goes quicker than parts break it seems.

Good Day!

The video was hilarious.
I'll try to follow the rules.

My 93 GT is a base model, and it need a lot of TLC, but it's a really nice car, and you just don't see that many of them anymore. A big plus.
90K miles. Time for the timing belts, and plugs, and gaskets. Don't have all the special tools to do it myself I'm afraid.
Hate to spend the bucks, but hey, if it will make the car last longer it's worth it. Besides I can't replace it for what it costs.

Jester.

Hello everybody! I'm new here but not to the 3S platform, nor to "the other site" as it seems to be called these days. Lol.

I haven't been active on the forums in quite a few years due to life happening and the fact that I really didn't like the direction that the other site was going. I'm one of the many casualties, I guess you could say.

My wife and I have had our '92 Stealth SOHC since 2002, which has been highly upgraded and as far as I know is one of the few running SOHC Single turbo 3S's around.

Some of you may remember the conversion from the other site.

Anyhow, we have recently purchased another Stealth. It is a '91 Firestorm red TT. It is in decent shape but needs a bit of love to restore it to her former glory. Absolutely no rust, which is rare as it is a Canadian car. Paint needs a good cut and polish to bring back the shine, no dents or dings anywhere.

My intention is to leave it as stock as possible with only minor upgrades as necessary. I say this, but as most 3S owners know, it won't be stock for too long. Lol

I'm really looking forward to getting involved in the community once again and can't wait to turn the first bolt on our newest (or is it oldest?) 3S.

In closing, I just want to commend Alan on the great work you've done with this site and wish nothing but the best for it in the future. Keep up the good work! :)

Hi, I just joined. I have a yellow 94 VR4, that I bought new. It was my daily driver until 2006 when took it off the road to become a dedicated track car. I fitted upgraded front calipers and rotors (AP 6 pots) brakes, 18" wheels, adjustable Tein coil-overs (big mistake), and all new wheel bearings, bushings, front uprights and drive shafts, front and rear camber kits, etc.

However, I took a different direction and started doing track days on a bike instead. So my VR4 was an occasional car until about 2 years ago when the stock ECU stopped driving the IAC so it would not idle propely.

Last spring, I fitted a flash ECU from Jester and new IAC unit. However, that gave me a new problem - it only runs on all 6 if its WOT and in open loop. Otherwise it runs on 3 from idle to 4,000RPM when warm.

Then I had a run in with cancer so work on the car stopped - until now. The cancer is gone and I'm ready to put my VR4 back on the road.

I'm having difficulty getting a response from chromedecu.org - what's the scoop there?

Has anybody else had a similar problem with a CA car running on 3 after fitting a flash ECU?

I'm new to 3000gt's. I just bought mine a few days ago.

It's a 1991 VR-4 with a 98 Hood and Headlights + aftermarket front bumper.

Other than the 5zigen rims, upgraded spark plugs/wires, drilled and slotted rotors, I think it's pretty much stock as far as I know.

New here, happy owner of a 1997 3KGT Base with the 5 speed manual. Car was given to me by my dad two years ago before I even had my actual license yet and not just a permit, he owned the car since it was new. The car was daily driven from about 97 until 2006 when it found its home in the garage and remained there until December of 2012 when I took ownership and have done so much in maintenance and repairs that every car eventually has. At the time of this posting, I have just begun to replace both head gaskets because I had a weird issue where oil was leaking OUT of the head.

That's definitely an issue of the SOHC. That happened on my original engine (blew it at 150k miles), and it's happening again on the replacement (has around 120k on the replacement)

Welcome to the party.

Hi, I'm camelspiders; I've owned a 92 3000GT VR4 for about 6 years. I can count the times I've driven it on two hands. When I deployed to Iraq in 2008 I let my buddy handle the 3KGT affairs for me and he turned it in to his mechanic friend with a lot of 3KGT experience to fix some engine issues along with some upgrades. I haven't been inside of it since because it's still in parts in a couple of different places. Shame on me for letting it slide for so long, thinking "this guy has a ton of experience and it will be difficult to find someone as good for the price."
I'm finally ready to gather up the parts of my car and find someone who can help me rebuild it. I plan on using this site to do that, while learning more about my car.

Thanks for reading.

Hi,

I purchased my first 3s back in 2010 and I've fallen in love! I run a small mechanic repair shop, but I like to build turbo cars in my spare time. I have mostly worked with Nissan Skyline swaps in the 240sx cars also a few eclipses and starions. I have found the 3s cars to be much more challenging and rewarding than any other project I've had and I would love to soon merge my business with pleasure.

Hi, opy here from TX. I've had my 94 NA (preparing for ridicule from TT people :welcoming: ) since 98 and finally pulled it out of the garage after 2+ years of sitting. BTW, after the 180k service and installing a new cat it passed state emissions inspection like it was new, even after sitting for 2+ years! I finally have time to start really working on it and found some great info on this forum so I decided to join :biggrin2: . I'm glad there are so many people enthused about the 3S and willing to help out.

Hello all! My name is Zach, I'm from Sharon PA, and I have a 1992 Dodge Stealth TT.
It's my second car. My first car was a 1990 Dodge Daytona ES with the SOHC 6G72 (which I still have).
I came across this red on cream Stealth with ~52,000 miles for $7,000 in October and I couldn't pass it up!
I spent all my money on it, and I'm learning all the complexities of these cars the hard way.

I believe I saw that Stealth on Pittsburgh Craigslist. Looked extremely clean. Good luck.

Hey everyone, names Mat, from central IL. Ive been on the facebook group and looked at the forum many times just never registered. I have a 92 SL that is getting a 4g63 swap in it and staying fwd. Reason for my name as I know these cars aren't dsm. I picked it up for 26 dollars and decided to use a motor I know a lot more about and can cause weight savings. So hello, I look forward to gaining a lot of knowledge on here.

Hello all,

I am Cameron from NSW in Australia.

I don't currently own a GTO but I am currently doing my research and hoping to be able to buy one in the coming 6 or so months.

Quick history of my cars -

97 Camry
99 Civic
00 Celica
99 FTO GPVR
95 R33 Skyline
01 Evo 7
04 Magna Wagon

Looking forward to learning as much as possible about these cars before I purchase one. As well as also looking forward to getting to know the community here.

Hi,
I'm new here ... I've just bought a 1994 JDM GTO Twin turbo. This is my first GTO and I'm just getting familiar with where everything is.
Previous to this I had an R33 Skyline GTS-T which was a great car, but rust took hold and I had to let it go to someone with a bit more time than me to look after it :)
I've got lots of questions already, but I'll have a good look around (hopefully) before I ask anything daft.

Hi yall, longtime 3000GT fan here, have owned 4 of them now. Been a while since I owned one but I missed the platform so much that I had to come back :)

Recently purchased a 97 SL to play around with.

Hey Guys,

My name's Ray and I recently purchased a 94 Dodge Stealth R/T. I love the car, which is an entirely different animal compared to my snail Honda Civic. I've done a few work on it such as changing the belts, oils, fuel filter, windshield pump (that was broken) and in the process of restoring the car back to a more aesthetically looking car she once was. Having issues with the shift sensor solenoid though after a transmission fluid replacement, so I am hoping to learn/ask people on the forums on how to diagnose/fix the issue before school comes around.

Would also like to meet fellow 3000GT/Stealth enthusiasts around the Bay Area!
