Hey, I'm Luke, A proud owner of a fairly messed up, undrivable 92 SL. Tomorrow though I will be driving about 200-250 mile to test drive a 92 R/T TT. Really hoping for some good advice what to look for before I say sold! Which is what i wanna do now already lol.

Hello LUKE, I'm your father...... ;) <--- HATE that winking smiley!

Welcome :)

As a previous owner, I think you pretty much know what to look for....but as far as "maybe" what might be an issue with a TT....

TT trannies can sometimes be notchy (due to previous owners BEATING on them). Check for smooth gear transitions in BOTH directions..

Ask if the transfer case recall had been done.

Check the oil (TT's are harder on oil than the N/A's). A lot can be told from oil (and the previous owner). Is it low? Is it REALLY BLACK? (all signs of neglect)

Good luck on your "test drive" and hope to add you to the TT club!!!

Bob. :)

I get the "Luke i am your father" line often lol. And as for the tranny and transfer case, it was upgraded to the 6 speed. Turbo cars throw me for a loop still. My SL was awesome(cough)when she ran.

Scratch everything I said. The people that promised they would take me to go look at it all backed out, change plans or got sick. Sick i am fine with but the rest grrr! I guess I'll just have to wait now :(

I was confused at first when I registered to buy parts in the classified section and discovered my access was suddenly restricted to the max... silly me :P At least it'll filter out the brainless I suppose.

@3SLSRTTT
All good things take time :] A tip I'd like to throw in is to check the turbos. Any oil inside or any wheel play is bad! If his turbos are bad, chances are he hasn't really taken care of his car and you should expect a very expensive fix.

Hmm new look. New owners? Looks similar to ViperAlley.com I was a member of the old forum. I currently own 3 Stealth R/T TTs. I like modifying cars and until I upgraded to a couple supercharged Viper GTSs the Stealth was my baby. Not as fast as my resto-mod 440 Duster, my 500bhp Stealth was the winner during winter months here in BC.

I got 120,000 miles on my Hunter Green TT and bought a 50,000mile Black (red leather int) 91 TT. I've added 3" donwpipe and Bluetooth stereo. Recently I re & re'd the ECU from my Pearle white TT becuase the low mileage 91 ECU crapped out. The Green and Black TTs both came from San fransisco area. Bought my Green one from a CEO who now owns a 780bhp Mustang GT 500. I own a Dodge Viper GTS ACR that has a dyno sheet showing 802rwhp/930bhp with Paxton sc and Nitrous. That Viper is for sale with only 26,800mi. and a screaming deal at $50K. More details can be found on my facebook under Terrificted.

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4224/sundaywashdayallsm.jpg (http://img193.imageshack.us/i/sundaywashdayallsm.jpg/)

My Green Stealth R/T TT was on the January page of the 3SI calendar last year.

This is Dave from Midwest Turbo Connection.

Alot of you probably know Dan (92RT-TT). This is the acct myself and Deborah will be using for Midwest Turbo Connection when Dan leaves for Basic Military Training in February.

A little about myself, I've worked as a Lead Machinist for over 30 years now and in 2 weeks I retire. Then I will be able to work @ MTC on turbos and other fabrication full time.
Deborah is my wife and also our CFO and takes care of all the finances for MTC. She is retireed but worked as a public accountant for over 25 years.

Over the years between Dan, Deborah, and myself we've had over 15 3S's. Currently we have a 93 VR4 and are planning to build a drag car out of it using a set of our wrx 19T turbos. Look for more info on that this summer!

We're glad to be here

As a new user to this forum their are a few things you should know to make your time here easier.

Post Grammar
While a majority of the forum's user base is located in the US a large portion of our community is not. These members may or may not speak English as their first language. These people may have the answers to your questions. Because of these factors please do your best use proper English when posting. While using slang and internet slang may make is faster to post it will reduce your chances of getting your question answered.

Basic Automotive Knowledge
This is an enthusiast forum before you start asking how to modify your 3S you should have a working basic knowledge of auto mechanics. If you ask something basic like "Whats oil pressure?" or "How do I change my oil?" expect a less then pleasant response. If your lacking basic knowledge try some sites like Howstuffworks "Auto " (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/)

Stickies and Announcements
At the top of each forum you will find informational posts and announcements. Make sure to read these as they will contain information you need to read. Failure to read these topics could result in a suspension for breaking a rule or public ridicule.

Rules
The forum rules are enforced strictly and without warning. Read the rules before posting. The Forum Rules (http://www.3sgto.org/rules.php)(The rules as posted are just guidelines and are not finalized yet.)

Signatures, Avatars and Private Messaging
These features are not enabled until you have been here for a while.

Selling via the Classifieds sections
YOu can find the "classifieds" but clicking the "Sales/Sponsor" button on the menu bar. Their are stickies and announcements in the classifieds section explaining what you will need to do to sell here.

Forum colors
While the default color scheme is Dark it is not your only option. Their is a light style as well. You can change your personal default in the user setting (http://www.3sgto.org/profile.php?do=editoptions). You can also change them on the fly via the drop down in the lower left corner of every page.

Administrators and Moderators.
A who's who of the important people can be found in the "Forum Leaders" link that can be found on the main forums page. A simple way to identify A member of the moderation team is the color of their name. RED is for Admins and Forum moderators Green is for Sectional moderators.

Its a good idea to pay attention to these people ignoring them can be bad for you.

Please review these resources then reply to this thread and tell us about yourself. Within about 15 minutes after you've posted the rest of the forum will be open to you.

Long story,,, bought my 93 new in 93!
Totaled it many years and mods later and sold the remains to be made into what is now known as the VR440...
My replacement is also a 93 with every option and color the same... Only difference is MORE MODS and a smarter driver!
It now has a 99 front end mod paid for when a little old lady ran a red light and bought everything needed including MORE MODS!
Other mods include a 6 speed, DR650's, GT PRO FMIC to name a few...
She has always been my daily driver, however now she's my winter driver, and my 03 Z06 is my fair weather friend;-)

Hi there, I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and have been owning 3/S's for 3 years. Started off with a '92 Stealth R/t and have been addicted ever since. I sold the r/t and picked up a '92 GTO TT that has now been converted to my winter project. But at -30*C this month.. I haven't got much done at all. haha! SO I'll save it for the spring. Needs a new clutch and I'm gonna change up some body parts and get it all back to the state it should be condition wise before putting some better mods together. I'm apart of the Canadian 3/S forum but when I heard there was a bigger community available I couldn't help but want to check it out so here I am. I hope to find lots of helpful info kickin' about!

Hello All,

I'm here, and my stupid screen name came with me. Maybe one day I'll learn me some creativity.

I haven't posted anything 3s related in months. I have been obssesed with a bike project, but I am going to try to get back to my roots.

BTW, loving the tapatalk integration! In fact I was browsing the tapatalk forums and found this... Thats how long I have been in the dark.

If you browse around, you'll see that a Stealth RT TT and a 3000GT VR-4 are almost the exact same car. It comes down to which aesthetic touches you personally prefer, and which options you want.

lesson 1: it's going to cost you more to go just as fast.

lesson 2: when shit breaks, it's going to cost you more to fix it.

lesson 3: unlike with DSM's, mitsubishi actually got the better looking 3/s.

lesson 4: DSM turbos are so cute that we put two of them in our engines.

lesson 5: parts for our spyders are a LOT harder to come by.

lesson 6: unlike with DSM's; when you debadge a 3/s, people won't have a clue what you drive.

lesson 7: even though DSM's use the same ATX internals: over here in 3/s land, the ATX "sucks donkey ass".

lesson 8: when someone tells you to "sell it and buy a vr4", take them seriously.

lesson 9: even when you do buy a vr4, it's still an intercooler downgrade from your DSM.

lesson 10: you can put a dsm deep in the 11's for what it costs to rebuild a 6-speed getrag.

Haha, it is a sad truth. I had an 11 second cabaple (never officially tracked it, but have a 1/4 mile run of road and hit 115+ every time) TSI that I got for $2000. You'll spend more than that on the turbos to get to 11's on a 3/s.

troof for both brian and paul.

yes, it's somewhat depressing; but this platform is still significantly cheaper than a lot of others (try owning a BMW). and it's way, way sexier.

that said, #7 on that list is my favorite. i'm sure mike (AudibleSilence) gets a kick out of it too.

P.S. I forgot that I'm supposed to say a few words about myself.

-Been a 3S owner for almost 3 years
-When I bought my car from a retiree, it was running on 3 cylinders, had rats living in the engine bay, and somewhere along the lines had a battery acid explosion
-Pulled the engine, stripped the engine bay down to nothing but sheet metal and nursed it all back to health:

Hmmm, I watched the video 10 times and it still doesn't explain this: Spyder95, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I'm sure you're a busy person/team so I thought I would just let you know there were some mistakes in here.. I don't mean to be an asshole.

I'm a 3/s enthusiast like most of the people here. Hello.
