Well, I said it was a crazy idea, run amok in my head. All good points brought up by ppl. I wasn't even looking for a NLTS, anti-lag, 2 step setup anyway. I mainly thought of this as way to run open atmo BOV with a MAF, cuz I want to eliminate my MAFT-Pro SD setup, get an EVO maf, but I didn't want to replace my Tial BOV and have to buy a recirc version of the Tial.

I think ive officially got a problem. Since I installed the 1000cc delphi injectors yesterday I've had 2 instances of a no start condition. Car will just crank and wont catch. cranking results in a gasoline stench. I've changed nothing except for the scaling and latency tables in ecuflash. Also verified that my periphery tables matched the ones posted by aaronatstate.

I've pulled the front bank of plugs and they are wet with fuel. Spark is also present. This morning when I had the same issue I pulled the plugs, blew them out with compressed air and sprayed them with brake cleaner. Also blew air in the combustion chambers with the air hose. Then I changed latency and scaling values and after doing that the car finally seemed to catch and started. I let it run for 15 mins, turned it off and back on to verify everything was OK and it was.

Now this evening I tried starting the car and it just kept cranking. I tried modulating the gas pedal but it didn't seem to help. I dont think anyone is running 1000cc sized injectors with a flash ecu yet is anyone??

I switched over to these settings(on the left) for my injectors...no dice yet. I haven't pulled the plugs to clean them yet though..originally I was using the ones on the right.

That's the first problem. You MUST leave periphery 0 alone as per my post on the first page and swap the O2 pins like I suggested. Whats happening is the ECU is correcting fuel based only on the rear O2 sensor. The front bank needs its own individual trim which you disabled with bit 2 of periphery 0. The reason turning it on causes you grief is because the O2 pins are swapped and the ECU is correcting the front bank based of the rear sensor and the rear bank off the front. This was a very common issue with the early batch of adapter harnesses because the 99 manual has them backwards.

The next problem is your scaling for the injectors is set to 725 or 886. This is waaaaaaaay too rich (unless you're running e85). When I setup the 3/S injector scaling I made it simple so that all you needed to do was input the size of your injector and research the latencies. So just set the Scaling to 1000cc and that should solve your starting issues.

After you do these 2 things, report back with how things are running. If you still need some tweaking done, shoot me a PM and I will tweak some of the start up tables (not listed in Chrome V1) to give you a better base tune for your injectors. Something else that will help is to take away some of the Trim % from the Coolant Temp Fuel Enrichment table. Adding 8% more fuel with those massive injectors at 68degF is quite a bit.

So there's no doubt, 1600cc injectors work great with a flash ECU. I haven't had a chance to play with 2100cc injectors yet.

UPDATE: I went back after letting the car sit for 2 hours to try and restart it. This time I flashed it back to the 725 scaling and latency values. After about 4 seconds of cranking and modulating the throttle it finally caught and started up...initially a little rough but then settled down. Anyways, with that being said and after reading your above post Greg, it seems

like I got some work ahead of me..

I'll heed your advice and do everything you posted and report back. Thanks for the help.

I am running delphi 1000s and my car starts as good or better than stock. One thing I have noticed is its easy to flood the car out if you stall it or the plugs are fouled. I just unplugged the big injector plug at the injector resistor pack. Start the car and it burns the extra fule out of the engine. Then plug it back in, works everytime. Starts fine again. I am trying to convince GReg to make some kind of choke type fuel cutoff in the ecus codsing. BUt we haven't crossed that bridge yet.

It's not needed. You got the V2 beta.

Lower the fuel and air temp enrichment trims, cut the start up IPWs in half (at least) and set the ISC during start up to max (120 counts). I bet the thing runs like stock!

Good to hear. What latency tables are you using? I'm hoping one from the list that I posted. This morning I changed the scaling to 1002cc and the car started up fine. Initial start up isn't as crisp as the stock injectors but I've got a few things I need to do (switching the pins and then driving and datalogging some more to check the trims.

I'm curious, How many times have you stalled and flooded out the car?? I like to have stock like driveability...don't wanna be messing with unplugging connectors and such..

Well I'm sure after I adjust the startup tables it will fix my issues. I don't do it alot. I had it at a paint place and they stalled it moving it around and flooded it, I had to talk them through the process once. I have done it when I am testing ECUs most of the time. But its not that big an issue. Under normal driving and use conditions it has happened once. but again, Im sure the start up table adjustments will fix that.
