Donnie has done it on his DSM. I'm not convinced I can't yet. I can get close and then goes erratic. Might only need the base fuel pressure lowered a hair. I'm actually around 45 now.
edit: I'm in very low pulsewidth zone. I probably need to play with individual cylinder trimming at idle to dial them in better instead of blanket removal of fuel. I just haven't played with it and probably won't since this setup (stock cams, stock block, tiny turbo) is very temporary.
I am curious how guys get these to idle anywhere near stoich on gas. I'm at 1mS ipw and below on ethanol already.
Edit2:
If the FIC2150 act like ID2000 (they should, same injector) anything below 1Ms is going to be tough to have any consistency. And the non-linear (bumpy) area between 1 and 1.5 is going to make it a little funky also. Lowering base FP will definitely help, but also limit my hp potential. FIC's calculator states 817whp on turbo 4 cyl, e85 at 45psi base and 90% IDC. 721whp (848 crank) at 35psi base which should be right near what my turbo can do and give my fuel pump a little help since that will likely be maxing what a single 460 can do anyway.
Flow starts to drop off on the big walbro at 80psi so 35 base plus 40 of boost keeps me below that threshold.
Guess it's time to see how low I can drop base fuel pressure. -6 return hopefully helps. But my new alternator is cranking out 14-14.2v at all times/rpms even when hot![]()
