You have oil in the exhaust AND intake...? it obviously came out of the turbo in that case...

What are the chances the problem is right here:

LOL the problem is right there in all it's blue glory!

I thought I pulled all the plugs the night before. It was on the stand, and the next morning when I bolted up the return line I did it standing. Could not see it... Fail. Always finiish to a point that what you are working on is complete is the lesson here...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

oil had nowhere to go as the return was nonexistent. It built up pressure pushing it through the exhaust, and hot side intake. Now to figure out the damage...

I doubt there is any damage... Just a lot of cleaning to be done.

Water is a normal by-product of combustion.... If you ran the car, you were making water. I wouldn't worry about the water in the oil on the exhaust side, only about how nasty of a mess it's going to be to clean up...

It was a head hanging in shame, and arms raised cheering moment, as it could have been something very different, and not so easy to fix...

That's kinda funny but in a bad way.

It's probably fuel in the oil. (Looks just like my oil when I was dumping a ton of e85.) Coolant and oil has no chance of mixing in the turbo. I would definitely send the one turbo back to have it checked out and new seals I assume.

    Smoking problem solved!

    Time to clean the intercooler

Bill, do yourself a favor and don't work so late at night next time. I did something stupid with my oil pan causing it to interfere 1/16" with the crank and had to take it all back apart to fix it. This was also around 2-3 in the morning so that was my problem. I was in a rush at the time and spent about 60 hours that week working on my car plus another 50 at work so I was doomed for something. Thankfully you found a simple stupid mistake and at least the cause is known. We all have our moments.
