yep. I know it is the lcdbc because my other obd11 cables do it when I leave them connected. I have a 1.3 tantrix cable and a 2.0 tantrix flashing cable that do it too.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is any one else running this on a true 98-99 car?

^I will finish installing mine on my 98 this weekend hopefully. My car is JDM though so very different.

I tried to connect the controller via OBD-II, wouldn't connect and strange things happened like CEL appeared and ABS warning light started flashing (diagnostic mode?). Connecting via MUT works fine.

All the main things work, not sure how relevant the fault codes menu is for my ECU though, as I was getting quite a few fault codes coming up and not sure if they are just a result of the unit being optimized for USDM ECUs.

I don't have BlackStealth's system yet, but will when they become available. But I do want to throw this out there; using Tantrix 1.3u or 2.0 cables to the ODBII port does NOT lock/unlock the doors. It does, however, set the ABS light to flash - which is normal.

On the other hand, I had an alarm installed and recently, I have noticed that my doors will lock/unlock randomly. I believe that this is due to a faulty connection in the alarm system. Sometimes, I can't roll up my windows (or roll them down, depending on position they're in) and with a simple bump to where the alarms main unit is, the windows will operate (and sometimes the doors will lock/unlock). I've already scheduled a visit to the radio shop that installed my alarm to ensure this gets fixed.

So, with that, you might want to check to see if you have any loose connections.

Was your alarm system installed before or after you you used the 1.3/2.0 cable? What year is your car?
Also this only happends if the cable is attached and you turn off the car.

Before, and after of course. '99 (#26). The doors will unlock automatically when you turn off the car, and lock when you start up the car (shortly there after).

But as I mentioned, I know there is a loose wire that does cause the doors to lock/unlock (sometimes more than once in succession.) Hopefully, the radio shop will sort this out and fix it before it causes any real issues.

Hmm interesting. My car doesn't do that.

I think I asked this before but is anybody running AEM wideband? If so what are the settings you are using? I can't get mine to read correctly.

I've tested the new design, made some changes, and submitted my order for a batch of new circuit boards to be made. Hopefully they will arrive in 2-3 weeks.

This new design has a bigger microprocessor (twice the memory) and has an onboard buzzer to alert the driver when something bad has happened (exceed knock threshold, coolant overheating, etc). This different microprocessor lets me control the brightness of Red, Green and Blue background LEDs. I find the LED to be too bright at night, so this will allow me to dim it down. I've made a small expansion card for datalogging, one expansion card model is for serial datalog communication, the second expansion card is bluetooth communication. I've put the SD Card datalogging off for now, but it's not difficult to add, just swap in a different expansion card.

I tell you what, even though I'm having trouble getting the wideband to read correctly, I love this thing. By far the most useful tool I've ever had for the car.
