The Z06 handles fine, owing to wide tires all around, and it weighs about 200lbs less than my car, according to the specs, but all that weight is in the front. Steering feels heavy compared to a 911 or other exotics that are rear or midengined. It honestly felt a bit like my Stealth to me. Didn't have AWD, and of course, no turbos. Stock for stock, the Z06 is barely faster than my car in a straight line, but with a lot less refinement. There's not much to differentiate it from a regular C6 IMO either. After a turbo swap to K24 18G's in my car, (good for about 700 crank hp) it was no comparison.

i would have taken the sl600. you can still dress up an MB so it doesn't look like a grandpa car (AMG variants help with that a LOT)--and with that kind of power, you have TONS of fun. Plus, it doesn't simply look like a glorified vette.

This particular car did have some bodywork done to it, side skirts and aftermarket hood.

It was a tough decision. In the end it boiled down to the fact that I could make the Porsche everything I wanted (carbon fiber interior, GT2 front and rear end, etc) and be competent on a track too, with lots of aftermarket support. The SL was too soft and heavy, even with all that power and some suspension upgrades. Plus, my car came with an extended warranty for 2 years. I did a lot of research on the SL's, and there were so many complaints about the top breaking, the air suspension going bad, the hydraulic pumps for the seats and stuff failing... I didn't want to mess with it. Even tried to see about buying an aftermarket warranty... they ran about $5k for a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty, if you can find a company that will write a policy for you. Lots of companies told me flat out they don't warranty those cars, because they lost money on them every time.

If I weren't building all 3 this year (well, putting one back together and modifiying one BPU but "building" the other) I was thinking of adding a MKIV Supra to the collection, or a 2G Viper. I need to stop looking at shit, this is getting ridiculous.

I've even contemplated SVT Lightning swapping my 03 Expedition which would make it similar to the SVT Thunder concept they never offered and I'm still pissed about. I think a low 13 second Expedition would be a blast.

Termi swapped Ranger on coil overs sounds like more fun to me.
