Busy as heck over the last week.

I had to make a trip to the machine shop to have the TC output seal replaced as I could not budge it no matter what I tried and I did not want to damage the cover. Even the machine shop said it was in there REAL tight. Also I picked up the new poly mounts after he pressed them in. He told me it took a LOT of force to press the inserts as they were a little over sized and the frames had all been PC. Curiously the pin on the rear roll stopper is not a press fit in the 3SX insert - it can move around.

Spent some shop time on some electronics stuff - stay tuned for an announcement when I get my prototype completed.

Rechecked the timing adjuster and everything looks great there. Worked on building up the long block and it's pretty much completed after all day in the garage on the weekend. Hunted around for the AC adjuster pulley bolt for a while before realizing there was still one on the compressor in the bay lol. Also ended up with an extra water pipe O-ring and it caused me to take the water housing back off to check and make sure I didn't forget to put the O-ring in there. Two steps forward and one back again.

Sprayed all the exhaust shields with hi temp paint and went in to eat dinner at 7:30 PM. When I stepped outside at 8PM the damn sprinkler system was watering my parts lol. Fortunately the paint had already dried and I was able to just wipe them down.

Next up, ordering a few more parts, gutting the precats (decided the 3SX rear delete is not happening!), replacing the seals in the transmission and TC. I'm planning to drop the motor back in sometime next week. My son is visiting from Boston at the end of the month and I need to get my bumper and hood off his bed before then!

MOD is the 14th. So you think a 600 mile trip 10 days earlier is going to happen? NOT

Longblock assembly. It's a lot easier to bolt up the rear feed and return on the bench

Mounted the PS pump. I'll remove the adjuster pulley if clearance is tight on dropping her back in

Setting the wastgate pressure with a Mityvac MV8500. I was hoping to rent this tool from Autozone but ended up having to buy it as they rent only the cheaper vacuum MV8000 tester. Using the H connector I have them both cracking open at 14 PSI right now.

Just need to bolt on the O2 housings, seal the valve covers, add the coils and PTU, and the longblock is pretty much done.

Looks great! I like seeing that you have a very clean build environment. LMAO about the sprinklers, divine intervention right there, ha!

Actually since I'm OCD I spaced the lifting bracket out from the head with a couple of thick washers just to get a little more clearance to the valve cover, lol

Haha, it looks clean but you would not believe the amount of dog hair I've been vacuuming up in there. I've got a black lab that hangs out and guards my project when the garage door is open but you got to take the good with the bad.

What do you guys think about 14 PSI for the WG? With these stiffer Drweldin springs I'm able to set it even higher before I run out of threads on the adjusters. I believe I'll be running up to 25 PSI on the DR650s with 560 injectors.
