He had been on my case to loose weight because my bloodwork numbers were progressively getting higher in the hemoglobin/glucose area and I was heading towards being classified as pre-diabetes. I was consistantly 6.1 for the A1c reading for the last 3 tests prior to this last one in July. The numbers came in at less than 5.7 for the A1c and 99 for the glucose (down from a high of 112) and put me into the normal range out of the pre-diabetes range. Just as the Doctor had been telling me for over 2 years, the numbers would come down if I could lose a pretty good chunk of weight. The weight I did lose was the fat that does the most damage and that would be the stuff under the abdominal muscles and around the organs. I was placed back on dayshift hours and I am not getting the sleep I was on the afternoon shift and I can see the difference it is making. (not so good) I am finally going to try and buckle down and include exercise into my routine since summer is winding down and I am becoming less active already. Great news I thought I'd share since the motivation I had was to loose the weight and turn around and run from type II diabetes.
I think improving our health is #1 here.
And you have done an excellent job.

So you're faster in the evening, big deal.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

i never run the same route twice in a row. there's far too many paths here for me to want to stick to just one. i've been gauging my performance based off time i ran, rather than distance. i'm about to the point where i'm going to run only with weights...since it cuts down on the time before i get exhausted.

Makes that mile or so go a bit faster, yes?

exactly. of course, it's a lot easier to count KM's here than miles, but still. i figure that i probably run 8 min mile on a good day, maybe 8:30-9:00 on a bad day. so i roughly estimate that 30 min of running is ~= to a 5k.

Well, liberals are known for the quality of their rough estimates.

i saw today on the news that obama was arguing that "one of two plans" was what america had to choose. of course, no one ever said that both were amazingly awful.

congrats on making this political. not that i'm surprised by that.
