Thread: So who wants their ECU's "Chromed"?

  1. #1001
Yes that is correct, I did make a mistake. Based on earlier messages VR4whore had sent me privately and info he posted here, I was too quick to point the cause of his stumbling at boost because the way he had described it earlier sounded right about the point where the fuel relay normally switches from low voltage to full voltage. I did not verify how the stock low/high voltage fuel relay operated with a non-VR4 ECU and was very concerned he might be running very lean based upon symptoms. I was surprised to hear the our cars default to high voltage mode, but when you think about it, it makes sense from the point of safety / failure mode point of view. I have verified the fuel relay circuit in my service manual and what you have said is correct. My apologies. It's very difficult to give tuning advice without being there in person.

Its also incredible difficult to give trouble shooting advice without being present. Sometimes the way someone is checking a system is flawed. But hey free advice is worth the price.

The following are general guidelines. This is the way you would do this in XP, but Vista / 7 might have slightly different terminilogy.

You have to browse to that directory in "My Computer" then right click on the file and select "Open With" . . . then select "Choose Program" and finally select notepad as your editor of choice. Then click "Ok" and notepad should open the xml file allowing you to copy and paste the above info. It is not required to check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" check box.

Sounds like you are trying to open the wrong file. The file you want should be in the rommetadata folder.

The scaling is messed up for those table you sent out. I switched the scaling back to blobbits and it worked fine. BUt if I left the EnableDisableBits it didn't work. Can you post the scaling info to put in the scaling section?
