Thread: So who wants their ECU's "Chromed"?

  1. #991
I will just send both mine and Eddy's Montero ECUs to Jester to convert to VR4.

Open loop tuning is fickle. It seems you always need to tweak it... I have played a lot with it but it's really nice to have the O2s get things in running condition for you so you can have an easier time adjusting the MAF/Injector tables to bring the trims within 5%. The auto tune feature (closed loop) is one of the most powerful features of the ECU. In fact, I'm working on a patch to extend closed loop beyond it's current load limitations so the ECU can auto tune for a specific AFR using the wideband during WOT.
your gonna program your self out of tuning jobs haha. jk, @ all other people, tuning is much more involved than just that.
    wow, that sounds awesome!

It would be nice to have a place where the information could be posted and only edited by certain individuals. Then you could avoid the repeated questions and misinformation. Make a wikipedia of 3000gt flash tuning.
I'm working on a manual in .pdf format that'll be an all in one EVERYTHING you need to know about flash tuning a 3/S. This will be released with Chrome V2.

Thought I told you about this but my memory is poor. When I get it finished (eventually) I was going to send it to you, Brett, Jeff, and a few others for your input.

So I still haven't gotten my stock boost gauge working properly. Again I don't need it for anything but I'm more curious what is going on.

The boost gauge load -> psi conversion was set up for a map sensor (0x82) when I change it to stock (0xB6) all I get in the table is "..." this makes the boost gauge calculation is worse than stock hehe. Now I can enter in 0x82 and it shows up just fine, is the stock value supposed to be something like 0x86?

No, you're 0xB6 is correct. You gotta input your own axis values after making the switch.

Making it stock switches the gauge back to reading LOAD. So just enter what load values you want the gauge to point at.

That makes sense, all I had to do was look at the next table. Thanks.
