I would do gtwizards trick plus an extractor vent in hood behind radiator. You'll get more air in and out. A properly placed vent can actually pull air out.

Has anyone tried not running thermostat? I am having similar problems hot wired my fans add a third pushing on drivers side remove bumps on the stock hood. Still overheated today with no air. New waterpump new radiator leak tested system no issue with cooling system that I can find. I even heat reflective wrapped my radiator hose and intercooler pipe to stop heat transfer. I am getting stressed and worried about ruining a set of heads.

Put a pressure gauge on your coolant system propbreaker. If you see the preesure spike above your cap crackopen pressure your pushing coolant past the heads and risking damaging them. Its a good failsafe in the 6xX and up range.

BTW, congrats on the little one and welcome back! We had our second boy this past Dec also. He was born on the 26th. His name is Landon Reid. Kids are awesome! Bring out the best in you!

Also check out your thermostat housing cap. If its old, you might consider replacing it. Mine was cracked and pushing coolant out into the reservoir, which introduced air pockets.

I tested coolant pressure today no spikes. As for the housing it is as new as you can get it has the 3sx kit for water ani coolant lines no cracks I had it powder coated made sure everything clear. I am going pull thermostat temp test it and most likely replace it.

Start it cold and leave the rad cap off and let it idle for 10 mins or so. See if it bubbles or starts to lift coolant.

I think I figured it out it was not even the cooling system it was the front hot pipe for intercooler. It was touching exhaust manifold just so slightly and it was transferring the heat to upper rad hose heating the water faster. I am waiting for wife to get off if work so I can drive. Since I spent most of the day taking care of rehabbing the pipe to clear.

Thank jfast for welcoming me back

Cramped engine bays. Mine sits verrrry close to my exhaust manifold, but I can see just the most tiny bit of air between the pipe and exhaust manifold.

Well that did not solve it. It idled without overheating for 45mins and stayed below half on the gauge. I barely went around the block and the heat shot up. I am stumped I can see it circulating and fans blow correct direction. No coolant leaking or milky oil no smoke. I am annoyed. Car is toward rich on the tune and timing is retard so I am out of ideas
