So I have successfully been running stock boost control with 450cc injectors, 482 "evo" maf, and 15g turbos. I can run from wastegate to 16 pounds with no problems. In order to get the stock boost control solenoid to bleed off enough air, I needed a restricter in the boost line. I made one with a nylon screw and a #60 drill bit.
BTW, this is on one of my new ECUs...

Great news. btw how long was the screw you used? I think the length will make a difference on the supply rate to the wastegates, so I am just clarifying. Also did you use the stock solenoid. I know you were experimenting with other solenoids.
Hmm this makes me think... you could just put a MBC in the boost line and it would still work with the stock BC too.

Plug and Play Flash Ecus, why use a harness when you can just Plug and Play?!

I used a nylon #6, cut about 1/8 inch. Then drilled a #60 hole through, then I drilled half that again with a 1/16 (btw, tried that size first, it was too big).
Been following this thread for awhile now, looking really great! I plan on running a chromed ecu this next spring. Already purchased the harness.
I did have one thought though...would it be possible to figure out a fix for rich shifts when running an open atmoshpere bov? I dont see any way of doing this without converting to Blow-Thru/speed density but I thought id ask just in case.
Relocating to this thread from the "other" board.

Playing with the orifice size is a great way to help tune out boost spikes or creep.... Just for reference, the #60 is .040", the stock one is pretty close to .030". Also, the smaller the orifice, the more drastic the changes will be with a change in duty cycle. (I.E. a car that operates at a max of 15 psi will have tighter control and adjustability with a larger orifice, where a car that operates at 25 psi will need a smaller orifice to facilitate dumping that much pressure)
I realize I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, just throwing the info out there for the readers...
I went through the same process building a cheep bleed style MBC years ago, and ended up with around .040" as well.
I've running Chrome 1.1 with a EVO X map installed and tied into pin 92, and I'm getting the constant purge valve clicking. I've matched my periphery bits to those shown by aaronatstate, but still get the clicking. I can't find the referenced purge control thread (I did look). Does anyone know how to disable it in the ECU or do I need to simply unplug the solenoid?
