Installed my maximal stage 2 t-case brace, and rebuilt some 2g rear calipers that Rakuny powdercoated for me.

Today, I deleted my stock oil cooler. I already have the big Greddy cooler on there so I pondered as to just why the hell I kept the stock leaky rusting unit on... I also hacked a little more of the headlight buckets away so that I could fit the Stealth boomerangs on a little better, no matter what I did they kept getting pushed up by the remaining bucket.

I'm also prepping the core of my intercooler to be done in some thin "thermal" friendly black paint, leaving the tanks polished.

Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power

I decided to go for it, I ended up with very good compression numbers and my engine's been taking a beating for the last 40k miles, still running very strong.
Hard break-in AMEN! I stuffed 14psi down my engine less than 1 hour after it was built. Going on 65K now. No blowby past the top rings and the cyliners still have crosshatching. Motor is very strong and very clean and the rigs don't chatter and cause smoke with me running an open crankcase.

That's what I suspected. Would I be ok with installing the wideband and retuning it prior to re-ringing or would I be better off doing what I said and essentially reverting to the stock tune?

Hmmm... Perhaps I'll have to go against the grain with this one and run it hard after I build it then. Does the same apply for new bearings as well with you guys?

Yeah I'm doing new bearings too... From what I've read it's not a huge issue since the tolerances on the bearings are good enough there should be no issues

I haven't really posted a whole lot since the accident with my white '94 VR4 last year. Being down and out sucks! I picked up a black '94 VR4 but didn't want to start working on it until I got the title and had the time.

I bought the VR4 with a motor that jumped a LOT of teeth on the crank. Those heads are most likely totally toast, maybe the cylinder walls too, and the belt ended up having a hole straight through the center of it (a bolt, rock or something must have punched through it, I don't know)

I got the title recently and today I started all of the prep work to swap the motor. Luckily my white VR4s motor is still in good shape and ready to drop in!

Took the hood off and just started going to town removing stuff. The car was entirely bone stock so I have a lot of work to deleting the stuff that I wont need/use/want. It's just the first day but besides the axles, exhaust, transfer case, etc, it's almost ready to come out.

Hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have a VR4 that I can drive again after more than a year!
