    Yes please that would be great! If you look at 1 synthetic oil engineering company let's say, AMSOIL. They must have 100 different oils. Take for instance... just the 30 weights. What's the difference between their 30 weight synthetics? They carry all these synthetic 30 weights for gas engines from 0 winter weight to straight 30 weight. vvvv LOL vvvv

    I spent about $100 for my oil cooler setup (ebay). Drove to work this morning with temps 155-160 F. On Saturday's cruise - 180F. imho, its worth it. I don't know what temps were with stock cooler and can't even imagine temps with no cooler. 260F?

    Ah, damn. They may keep that info in-house, but I am surprised it would not be provided to the consumer. It wouldn't be too difficult to measure, but by that point you have already purchased the item.

    An item related to pressure drop that you could eyeball yourself is cross sectional area of the oil tubes in the heat exchanger, multiplied by the number of tubes. There are other factors, but that could get you started.

    Interesting, though to your point I've never seen that measurement on any industry standard TDS. Most companies break it down to VI and give you the sheer #s if that. What would said information tell you (personally) that the VI @ temp X doesn't in relation to what is best for your car at a motorsport event?? Most of the engineers that I deal with seem to be good to go with info readily available? -listens intently-

    shear thinning is a very elusive unknown when it comes to bearing modelling. a lot of elasto-hydrodynamic codes i'm familiar with have a few "recommendations" based on literature, but that's simply because they can't get the data from oil companies. Could be a lack of perceived demand, or lazyness, but very likely both. I've had some customers say it's like pulling teeth trying to get info from their oil suppliers, you need to be a major OEM for them to even give you the time of day.

    We don't even publish our TDS and MSDS files... I can see that. We get obvious orders from the competition and we ourselves test their stuff to make sure it meets their claimed spec. It's catty as all hell. You would love our Q school.
