Don't be jelly just because my dog can sit on my lap and not cut off my circulation, or kiss me on my face and not suffocate me with dog breath, or go poop in public places and get away with it because her poop is so tiny, or literally have everyone and their sister fawn over her because she's so ridiculously cute & no one is intimated by her size, or.....

...children don't run away screaming when my dog comes racing towards them to say "hi", random passersby don't fear of getting bit because she wanders over to say hello, i don't have to put my dog in cargo when she flies on an airplane, she plays well with cats, she qualifies as a "small pet" when traveling which makes finding a hotel (at least in Europe) much easier), she's super-easy to find someone to pet-sit for because she's not-at-all intimidating for someone to take back to their house for a few days (although several have threatened to steal her because she's so damn awesome), she DOES fit in a backpack--which means i can carry her around indoors incognito, she's not at all afraid to play with or stand up to dogs 10 times her size, ....

dogs are like computers. if you can make something totally awesome...but package it even smaller...it becomes MORE awesomer. my dog has the lap-manners of a well-trained cat, the spidy-sense of a well-trained guard-dog, the energy of a greyhound and the disposition of a golden retriever. the fact that she's only 9 lbs just makes her more awesome.

And they live a lot longer. My 13 year old (14 in January) 4 lb dog still has spunk like a puppy. He's currently raising hell in the kitchen by himself, with a ball.

I like all kinds of dogs, but I travel a lot and large dogs aren't hotel friendly. Plus, little dogs are just badass, especially with how big they think they are!
