TO was a helluva receiver, and if not for the ACL injury (IMO), would've had a shot at the NFL record for yards. Most fans don't like him because of his behavior, but it's not like he acted crazy and didn't deliver, he had great stats even when he was playing on crappy teams. Can't forget his coming back and playing that Super Bowl on more or less one and a half legs.

Have to wonder if Jerry Jones regrets releasing TO, trading away the 09 draft for Roy Williams, and keeping Jason Garrett. None of those decisions really worked out. They had a good year that first year after releasing him, but had the luck of playing the NFC South, and AFC West that year. (Opponent combined record out of division was 68-76) Since then, haven't been above 500

I couldn't watch it all. What a whiny bitch.

Training camp is for the players to, you know, TRAIN. Fans sometimes get autographs, not all the time.

Long term you are right. But short term, it has to be Brady/Moss.

Brady Moss was a monster combo, however I discount some of it due to the Pats being in F-U mode to everyone that year and running hurry up offense and the score up late when most other folks would be milking the clock. I don't condone or condemn the Pats for it, it's well within their rights and it is the other team's job to stop them, however I think that some other combos could've done the same had they kept running hurry up deep passing offenses with big leads. Minnesota with Moss and Culpepper comes to mind, or the Rams when they had Warner Bruce and Holt (amongst others). I'm fairly certain that Brady Moss would still be one of the best, but idk about the best.

Given the way that defensive backs can't touch receivers anymore and the catering of rules to the passing game, it's hard to compare across generations. Montana and Rice had 1000+ yards and 22 TDs in 1987 with only 12 games. Compared to Brady Moss having 23 TDs in 16 games...I'd still think Montana Rice would be #1, Brady Moss would be #2, Manning Harrison #3

a blip on the radar does not equate to worthy. sustained performance, over many seasons, it what defines a prolific tandem. do we count the highest career batting average based on the dude who only stepped up to the plate once and got one hit--in his entire career?

    p.s.
if manning/harrison is #3, it's only because the colts O was so deep that it would spit out multiple players with 1000 yard seasons perennially. the 2004 season had 3 WR's with over 1000 yards. it's hard to emphasize how effective one combo is when the secondary/tertiary combos are more than adept enough to START AS PRIMARY on any other NFL team.

if anyone else could have done it they would have. nobody loses a game because they didn't want to score to much.

I never said over their entire careers or even long term for that matter. that blip is exactaly what I'm talking about. during the time they played together no pair was better per the numbers produced.

but that's also my point. because you're measuring on a blip, it's an anomaly. you might as well throw the entire idea of standard deviation right out the window. didn't you take statistics? it's not a representative sample.

Again, I point you to Montana and Rice.
    Brady/Moss in 07 16 game season: 98 receptions, 1493 yards, 15.2 YPC avg, 23 TDs
Montana/Rice in 87 12 games (3 missed due to injury, 1 due to the strike): 65 receptions, 1078 yards, 16.6 YPC avg, 22TDs

If you plot that out, you see that they were almost mirror images of each other. Except that Rice had a much higher TD to reception ratio, and TDs are what wins games giving him (and Montana) the edge in my eyes. Again, given the difference in eras it's hard to *really* compare them directly, in 87 DBs could still harass receivers right up until the ball was on its way. Given the choice between the two, I'd take Montana and Rice for both that singular season, and for long term.
