This is pretty demotivating - that NOAA for some reason needs ~70k .40 cal rounds...must be in case of a 'sharknado.'

A 300 man security force needs 70K rounds...?NOAA research and operations are supported by 300 uniformed service members who make up the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps. The current acting Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere at the Department of Commerce
I don't think it's the ocean that's smelling fishy....
Edit: That is only 233 rounds each.... Not nearly as bad as it initially looked. Still pretty ridiculous when you consider the context and purpose....

233 I can believe, but thats assuming ALL 300 carry and/or qualify with a weapon...
Dumb and Dum Dummer: NOAA Clarifies That It Is Not Buying Hollow Points For Weatherman . . . Just Fisheries Personnel | JONATHAN TURLEY
...but according to that article last year, only 63 of them are armed service members. That makes it 1,111 rounds each. Now I used to qualify with the M9, and dont ever recall firing more than 1-200 a year![]()
if you cant fix it with a hammer...then you have an electrical problem
I did make the assumption that all 300 were armed... Back to the fishy smell.
We DO need to be prepared for the armed invasion of the fish ladders....
