The more the think of it the more it makes sense. It's hard to get an exact 90deg. bend with large diameter thin wall tubing, this way they can keep the pipe where they want it and still connect to the tb.

    Good stuff.

What is on your intake manifold? That looks awesome.

As for what I did recently, spent 6 hours worth of tracking down a .5mm cut in the glove box light wiring that was shorting out the dash/park/tail lights on the SL. Fun stuff.

Thanks! Yup still on the same bearings installed in your driveway. Currently at 155k, I think we did all that work at 112k. Still good oil pressure, the engine's held up well. I am chasing a stumble around 3000rpm but other than that she's doing well.

Radiator leak is fixed and I drove her to a friend's house for 'Merica BBQ today.

I'm going call the thing the striker grabs the "hook"... I might be missing a spacer plate or something that goes beneath the hook. In '05, I took the dash apart, then it all sat while I installed the roll bar, then I put it back together in a hurry. I'm just glad the rest of the dash looks good, heh.

I've taken that apart a few times, and while it's been several years, I think I remember there being a thin spacer plate behind the striker (#8, the hook thing that bolts to the dash, which the latch on the glovebox door grabs onto). Maybe try spacing that down with some washers to see if you get it to close properly?

I had absolutely no idea that powder coat could be made to look like CF.

Durrr, you're right about the "hook" being the striker and the latch being the latch

I thought about using washers but figured I'd hop on here to discuss it a bit before jumping in
