    The SL ecu lacks the drivers for the stock boost gauge and BCS.

    I checked both a 98 DOHC VR4 and a 98 DOHC SL ECU and the knock circuit are the same. The 98 SOHC ECU knock circuit is different.

    I have also examined multiple ECUs and I will back up BlackStealth's assessment.

    I bought a 98 SL ECU and also could tell that the knock circuitry is identical to the VR-4 ECU. I have no problems using this ECU or this ROM. You can't ignore the data:

    Code:
    Knock circuit layout

    1998 3000GT SL
    MMC P/N MD347251
    MFG P/N E2T61389 H3
    PCB P/N JE331B157D

    Con1-Pin 91 > R314 (TOP) > C45 (BOTTOM) > R315 (TOP) > IC2-Pin 78 < IC2-Pin 80 > IC1-Pin 92

    R314 = 51 KOhm
    C45 = 0.02 uF
    R315 = 6.2 KOhm
    IC2 = Mitsu Electronics E328 logic level converter
    IC1 = Renesas H8/539F microcontroller, A/D input 6

    Con1-Pin91 > R71 (TOP) > C62 (BOTTOM) > R73 (TOP) > IC7-Pin 78 < IC7-Pin80 > IC9-Pin 92

    R71 = 51 KOhm
    C62 = 0.02 uF
    R73 = 6.2 KOhm

    How does the AEM do the knock circuit? Is it different from the stock ECu too? Should we not use it either? Just stirring the sh!t. no offense anyone.

    What was the debate between you and Brett about this?

    Edit: nvm, found the thread on 3STech, the debate concerned the 3/S SOHC ECUs.

    I stand corrected.

    Awesome work Greg. I downloaded v1.0 a while ago but just now got around to trying it. On that topic, I tried to download the most recent version, but it doesn't work. v1.0 seems to work fine for now anyway.

    I recently deleted the EGR, evap, and rear o2 sensors. I have been able to disable most of the CELs except for P0141 Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2. In periphery0 bit02 (0=Disable downstream O2 heater and sensor, both banks) , I changed it to 0, but it still didn't get rid of the CEL. I looked through the rest of the periphery bits but didn't see one that listed P0141 or bank 1 sensor 2. Anyone else have this issue?

    In the Periphery2 Bits, the only ones I have set to 1 are 00, 04, 05, 06, and 08. I don't have any CELs.

    I'm a little lost in this thread. But if I'm reading correctly, there are members running this with obd1 cars using 98/99 ecu's? Without hijacking this thread too much, what would I need besides a 98/99 vr4 ecu to make this work on my 92tt?
