Pulling a paid sponsorship is a tricky thing. As a business owner once you accept $$ from someone as a sponsor their is an implied contract between your business and the sponsor. Unless you have a performance clause in the contract just kicking them would put you in breach of contract. Even refunding the money paid would not IMO prevent the sponsor from taking you to court.

I got my fingers crossed cuz the guys are way too cool. I'm hoping they're playing catch up, and make all us feel like dumbasses.

You would know better than I about the contracts and what not. But they didn't seem to have a problem pulling GZP.

But if this is the AF contract (terms and conditions) that they signed (not 100% sure) this would seem they can cancel the agreement at any time

I hope they do get their shit together... but nobody but them will look like "dumbasses". Warren is/was employed by SSM. Also SSM has sent out shitty products, ask Patryn and a few others

So at this point it is trying to change/improve their image.

We could have taken them, and the administrative staff to court for a number of reasons. Hans did not want to spend the money, time, and aggravation on it anymore. We have much more important things to focus our time and energy on.

We had hoped SSM would pull through, but this is exactly what we expected to see from the very beginning. So I can't say that I am surprised to be reading all of these posts. It is the same business path LMI took, and it's resulted in nearly the exact same outcome.

I need to fire up my Dynasty 200 TIG, get some time under my belt, and start making some parts for these cars. I had hoped SSM would pull through too but there were quite a few shady characters working for them.

    One can only hope.

I didn't blame April for anything. I just personally think the mods could have done a better job with the information they had, that's all.

Well SSM vendor status on 3si has been suspended.

Also I wish people would realize, mods don't get involved until the issue seems like it will not come to an agreeable resolution. In this case, SSM (Jesse) was in contact and coming up with resolutions until about a week or two ago.

At this point, nobody knows what's Warren's involvement is with SSM (other than a sub contractor). Payment should have sent to Split Second Motorsports, which is Jesse's company. If payment was made to another name, that would throw a red flag up if I was a potential buyer. Also, I understand that SSM asked for payment to be sent as a gift, which also throws up a big red flag. When I found out about that, it was quickly taken care of on 3si. No business should be asking or accepting a payment for product as "paypal gift", and any fees that are occured by using PayPal can be a tax write-off.

He can not legally be a sub.contractor. he would need his own business license, and carry his own insurance, etc. Warren never had a legitimate business with LMI, I can guarantee he doesnt have the required paperwork to be a contractor now, so Jesse is full of shit claiming warren and the other guys are contractors. Jesse is just saying that to pass the responsibility off as not his.

Please clarify, as to who other than Warren has a bad rep? If I'm correct most people are pissed at dude over their turbos. Didn't get what they paid for... happens everyday when you know how much of a mark up people have on 3S parts.

Emily, besides being hypocritical, GZP needs to shut up and sit down in this thread. Hanz had a pretty shit rep for a really long time. I would think those who required forgiveness, would be the first to extend it.

Please share your personal/professional/business dealings with SSM. (Please don't bore us with the GZP v. Warren vendetta.)

What's bugging me... we don't know for sure who's posting shit.

    BLAST:
I really have no idea what's up with these guys anymore. I came across their products on e-bay, and then found their website. I then stalked Jesse/Chatz on a local forum asking a bunch of retarded questions. He was always cool, helpful, had no bad press, and everyone who knew him, thought highly of him. One of my boys needed a 3S shop for some work, and I pointed him to SSM. Their prices at the time where actually really good. He took the car to SSM for a 120k. During that time it was discovered that the car was a POS and needed a new head from a broken timing belt that the previous owner was aware of. No, new didn't have the car looked at before he bought it.

SSM gave him major love on the bill, and even gave him parts they had on hand to help keep the cost down. He picked up the car, and it was running shitty, high knock count, running pig rich, etc. Call SSM at approx 10:00pm on a Sunday, told to bring in first thing that Monday.

Drove from SD to LA, and met Warren the mechanic. Spent half the day at the shop, watching the mechanic custom fab, pick his brain, and trouble shoot. I think I spent more time foundling parts then I do strippers. Seriously had a kick ass and 3/8ths of a day. I asked if he owned the shop or just worked there, his response, "I'm just helping out till everything is up and running". At one point the mechanic turns to me and says “You do know I'm Warren from LMI?” I replied “the shitty turbos?” After that, he was good in my book, took some nuts to admit that. I told him “real shit cuz, build something sick, break a few records, and start again, no one will give a shit. It's only a car.”

My boy's car is at SSM now, if it's really some GTPro shit, we'll know after he get's it back.
