I saw that. Congrats! Now Illinois is the only state where you can't get a CCW...not even a may issue for CCW.

the lowest percent on that chart for a .40 cal is still just as low as the .45 , 40 is just as effective and often times smaller
and technically the highest percentage on the .45 is 93% stopped in one shot withhydra shok ammo , the .40 has the same percentage. this chart and some other readings are what lead me to buy a .40 over .45 for ccw
What you may not have considered is the recoil. Ive shot .40's and they snap up hard. The .45 has a much milder recoil which is why I chose it.

You can find them cheaper. My class was $90 in Charlotte and my dad found one in Kernersville that only cost $75. Its definitely worth it regardless.

Here in Utah, I paid about $165 out the door for the class and permit.

From what I've seen around here it is roughly $125 for class and permit. I will be joining a class here as soon as I can get some free time. For bonus points, on days where I get a wild hair up my ass I may even tote around the .44 Mag.

Haha, nice! I might try and carry my 1911 when it shows up just to see what it's like, but I doubt I'll like it at all. I just love the PM9.

Nice looking gun. Love the Ruger skinny barrels. Fun fact, my friend bought a Ruger .22 just like that and was carrying it out in the country with it pointed down. His leg fell into a badger hole causing him to grasp the gun and shoot it. The bullet went into his calf and exited out the bottom of his foot. He was a hurting unit.

    Damn!

That's why I never carry a SA chambered until I'm ready to fire. Or with the safety off for that matter. My dad has a Mk I that I love and prompted me to buy this as a fun target practice/plinking gun since my PM9 is not fun to shoot at all.
