    I suppose if you're a lazy southerner. I suppose the word south is also pronounced sowf.


    What inperfect is talking about is the southern accent. Much like here in the USA, in Germany, the southerners speak the language incorrectly. Similar to how (in Germany) the southerners will often pronounce "zig" as zish.

    I took German and know a few German's. I have never heard it spoken that way. It is indeed "deek"

    Some people in the deeper southern parts pronouce it with a deesh. But, saying it is pronounced deesh is like saying hardcore southern slang is the "proper way" to say it.
