Yeah, the main issue is the cat itself messing with the readings. My cats are still in place.

Brett's is just an older version of mine which is a revised version that gate started.

I'll just send the code to add to the xml.
Yeah I've edited a few things myself, just to my liking, just dont want to do it all again

Why not get a test pipe? Not that hard to replace the main cat. THough you could run it in a rear location. Sensor life will be deminished, but it'll give you good readings.

Yep I understand. Any new updates I come up with I'll just send you the code.

I have a full exhaust already with a dummy cat but it won't bolt to the stock pipes. Unless someone wants to let me borrow theirs with a bung in it, it's not really worth spending the $$ on.

The local awd dyno has a tail sensor they use but I can't pony up $100 to rent the thing for an hour.

I have a '99 VR4 and my ECU's exterior is no different, in appearance/size outside the actual harness connector, than previous years....or did I just misunderstand?

No. A lot of the 99s had the later style Mitsubishi black box ECUs. All the real 99's I've seen, and all the Montero and Diamante ECU's from 98/99 were this style.

Never knew that. Do you think it's attributed to Cali-spec vs Fed-spec? Or is it in the production run?

They dropped the Cali-spec vs Fed-spec thing when OBD2 became a gov't standard.

Here are the pics of my ECU

1 thing, okay this looks funky, 2nd thing, THANK YOU TO AARON! For telling me that I needed 4 dimes to open it up. Made it very easy.

    Nope.

Edit: turns out there is a limitation but it's not significant enough to worry about!

I would disagree with that a bit. For all flash chips there is a limit but it's usually so high that you will not reach it. For tuning I would hope you never could unless you flashed it every day for the next 10 years.
