using stock fuel pump and -10an would be just like what you've described. but if you have 2 pumps that flow 2x over stock, shouldn't you use 2x bigger fuel line?

Rate of flow and line diameter are two different things. You can't just multiply everything by 2.

i'm not disagreeing with the idea that tubing size can be too big, chris. i'm just asserting that you have 4 pumps; which to me, says that running out of pressure isn't exactly a problem.

It may not be, but I am using -8 from the 4 pumps to the engine bay where it splits to twin -6an and that is plenty to supply 747AWTQ worth of E95M5. More fuel than what 95% of people here would ever use. Therefore -10an is not needed for almost all but the crazy over the top builds.

So, after all this discussion I am a bit lost on what I will be needing.

I am throwing on dr750's and running E85. Injectors to be determined due to wanting twin tune for pump as well. One or two pumps, and do I need to run lines or not?

I am not tuning for max drag power, just road course/street...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

    Coopkill,

One pump on e85 would probably only be good for around 400-450awhp. I'm assuming with dr750's you are shooting for a bit higher than that. You have to use 30-40% more fuel when you run e85 fuel. I did a little bit of math earlier in this thread and figured this much out. I am going to try one pump out on the stock line with some large injectors and see what I come out with. Running an 8AN line on my setup sounds like it would be overkill on my setup, I'm just shooting for 450awhp on e85. Stock line is ~5AN so 6AN wouldnt be much of an upgrade.

I would say for your setup dr750's on e85, you will need two pumps if you want to have enough fuel to get past 450awhp (on e85! you would have plenty of fuel if you ran pump or racegas). If your running two pumps I would probably do an 8AN line (though it might be slightly overkill)

    With the pump maxxed out..
    340LPH would be ~5667cc/mm
which would be enough for 945cc/min for 6 injectors (@ 100% IDC)..

So if you wanted to run the pump balls to the walls all the time you could use 1200cc/min injectors at ~78% IDC... that'd make for a pretty badass setup..

EDIT: THIS MATH IS CORRECT IF WE LIVED IN A PERFECT WORLD AND THERE IS ZERO RESTRICTION IN THE FUEL LINES AND WE COULD GET ALL OF THE 340LPH TO THE INJECTORS

I assume with that much fuel you would still need to upgrade to larger feed lines, fuel rails, filter, and all that good stuff too?

I don't get why anybodys worried about a quiet pump. lol stands to reason if you have a walbro, you have exhaust, maybe some sort of stereo. I've never heard a walbro thought bothered me or was louder than a typical exhaust while driving. I think these cars are noisy in general.

And why not do it real big with an external aeromotive fuel pump. Why fight with cramming 2 pumps in the tank and hoping you didn't mess something up, worried when you have an issue if both pumps are working, etc. One external eliminates all those problems, and it has shear intimidation factor thats worth it right there when someone sees it hanging out the back..

sleeper look? because even with a single stealth pump, it might not flow enough for a given setup? because someone like IPO already has two inline pumps; and he NEEDS two tank pumps?

personally, i'd max out tank capacity before i went inline; but that's just me.

    p.s.

you must not daily your car if you don't give a flip about noise. these cars are NOT noisy in general, imho--we just haev a lot of people who modify them that way. i personally am not one of them, and i certainly note the audible difference between my old 2.5" single-shot catted exhaust; and my 3" catless exhaust. it's now a PITA to take it on the highway for extended periods of time.

part of the reason why my build has SO MUCH HEADROOM built into it--is because i'll gladly give up 50hp if it reduces my exhaust note 10Db or more. i want the power; but i want the manners and disposition of a maserati. anyone can make a LOUD car; i see dozens of them every day. what you don't see is a car almost as quiet as a hybrid; with the power of a zonda.
