Because not everyone always turns in the MIR's. Thus, they can advertise it at a certain lower price and put MIR at the end of it which in turn attracts more people to purchase it.

Got mine for free, no MIR.

My friends Droid X got a virus within the first we he had it, it locks up when he turns it on 80% of the time, and it is slow along with jittery UI. Although, we rooted it last night, and it seems to be running a little better now.

uhh... what the fuck was he doing? Never heard of an android phone picking up anything more harmful than simple spyware.

I love my droid x. Rooted and using a Rubix1.6 ROM. This ROM still has a few bugs, but I haven't applied the updated version yet. Lots to be had after rooting and flashing a different ROM (Battery life, speed, free wifi tether).

I am currently running Droid (original) with Cyanogen mod 6.0. So far it works great, had it this way for the last couple months (since 6.0 was released). Personally I think any android phone is good, you just need to figure out what you want in your phone.... keyboard, good camera, screen size, etc. Verizon 4G LTE should be coming soon if you live in a major city, might wanna wait until then.

Work in major city, but live out of range for any 4g, and most 3g...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

Doesn't matter if you live in 4G, as most of it is quite sketchy. Most areas that carry 4G, which isn't a lot, carry it quite poorly. My cousin, who has an EVO 4G and lives in a 4G area keeps his phone switched off of 4G. Reason for this being that the 4G coverage is so scant that his phone is constantly looking for coverage. On 4G mode, his EVO's battery lasts about half a day.

Well I remember reading an article that said that verizon's goal is to have 4g coverage matching the current 3g coverage by 2012. So I know I am looking forward to 4g, and getting a phone that will last me the two years on my contract.

Just make sure you don't get in a bind and have to cancel early. To cancel two Verizon smartphone lines is $700, which is simply outrageous.
