I can't stand virtual. I'm just not used to it, and I can type damn fast on physical.

A guy I know is the big dog regional rep for Verizon in WV. He gets the phones before they are released. He continues to use the droid2, though he says the Galaxy(Fascinate) is a very cool, powerful, phone. He also said reception was not near as good with the Samsung, which is the main reason he didn't keep it. Coming from the Samsung I had, back to a Motorola, I definitely agree. In flatland areas, I figure they are all pretty much the same. Where I live, they definitely are not equal. Every time I've switched away from Motorola(twice) there's been a huge drop in service level. Motorola is definitely king 'round these parts, for whatever reason.

Droid 2 is a good phone, no doubt about it. And like you've said, Motorola has always been known for superior reception, especially in past times. Take a look at the W385 for instance. I actually still have a Motorola as a secondary phone (Motorola Hint) and it along with other phones have never been able to get reception in a small corner in the basement of my house. Got my Galaxy and it was the only one that has ever been able to get reception there. Confused the hell out of me, too. Not only did it get reception there, it was damn good too. When I have a customer with reception issues I usually try to get them into a Motorola to see if that fixes the problem as a last resort. But, I guess you never know.

I personally love a physical keyboard.... however, once Blindtype is released, I may change my mind.

Then I have to delete back, space out one and it will work. That's been my only complaint on the phone, which is very minor. Love the google voice nav, use it constantly, and the google voice searching.

    Awesome. Thanks for the input

Around here (where there's hills, not your flat as a piece of paper state ) LG has always ruled king. I think it's mostly due to the shitty service with AT&T (they were the only way to get Motorola here until the RAZR) but still. I was in New Mexico in the mountains, and never had an issue getting service with my LG. That said, the Droid has about the same level of service, so I'm not complaining.

Who gives a shit how fast you can type? I could type 100% accurately on my old 1-9 keypad, quickly enough to impress people... with the phone in my pocket. Physical keyboards will always rule, haptic feedback using vibrators (hehe, vibrator) will never come close to the same feel. RIM tried with the god-awful queef of a phone, the Storm, and it's shitty clicky touchscreen.

The competitions/records I speak of take into account that it has to be spelled correctly. No competitions that I know of where the name of the game is just to type the most letters...

The Storm is POS. Try it on good touch screen, not one that moves for some awful reason.

It comes down to preference. You should get what you like. Just pointing out that the fastest typing occurs on virtual.

Who cares how fast you can type? I know what the competitions are, and they're stupid. Completely pointless.

I was using the Storm as an example of shit. I've used an iPhone (nice virtual keyboard, not perfect, but damn nice) and a Droid. The Droid could use some better navigation on the keyboard, and better use of multi-touch, but it's nearly perfect as is.

Yeah, I have both, and regularly use both. The biggest downfall of a virtual keyboard is tremendous amount of screen real estate that it wakes up.

Most of my customers care how fast and easy it is to text. Truth be told, I'd say probably 90% or more of my customers that use texting.

I mean, obviously, you want it to be easy, but over a certain WPM, it's pointless. That's where the difference in physical vs virtual comes into play. Things like Swype are, IMO, unnecessary. What the hell are you texting something long enough to need that much extra speed? May as well call the person at that point.
