3d printed a cig box replacement. Might cnc it in aluminum, 3d printed stuff is abit fragile..

Pla or abs? An acetone vapor bath would help smooth it out and gain strength if abs.

I should be using ABS though.

I make it pretty strong by melting outer edge surface with a soldering iron. The layers gets melted together like glue. Much stronger than from print

The owner of project "Dirty Sohc" came over last night to de-rodent the engine bay. Looked like they had chewed the insulation off of one of the fuel injector wires. Decided to throw a battery in it and start it up anyway. Unbelievably, it fired right up. I checked the injector with the suspect wiring and it was clicking away. Wasn't too long before white, coolant scented smoke started coming out of the tail pipe. We were told the head gasket was likely shot, good to confirm it anyway. Decided to take it for a quick spin up the road to make sure the trans shifted. All was good!

I can't believe how cheap parts are for that engine. Fel-Pro head gaskets are 7 bucks each. The HGs, ignition tune up kit, and timing belt/WP kit is all under 200 bucks!

Timing kit? Don't you just wait until the belt breaks on a sohc? Lol

Well, I would. But I'm working on this for a friend/customer so I want it done right so he doesn't have any surprises. I don't know when it was done the last time and the car has almost 170k.
