I read an Aussie based news article that slanted this against "Hooning" made mention that the hydraulics on the car caused the wheels to fall off, right as the driver hit the brakes to prevent from hitting the car in front of them.

LOL, it's nothing to do with hydraulics. Looks to be that the driveshaft disconnected until it pivoted in the blacktop and ripped the whole ass end out.

I could have sworn Myth Busters did a thing on this and they came to the conclusion that it couldn't happen......maybe it was flip a car IDK.

Mythbusters wanted to see if a car could go end over end by pivoting the ds in a pothole. The conclusion was no, that only the rear end could jump. As has been noted in numerous drag runs.
