I go to Wal-Mart constantly. Considering there is one not 100 yards from my house, yeah, I'm not going to go out of my way to shop somewhere else... I do go to Target, Kroger, etc., but easily 95% of my basic goods come from Wal Mart.

Walmart at 10 miles away carries everything else that they may need or want, without having to drive an hour each way. While her situation is a bit more extreme compared to most, some smaller towns that may be all that they have because of competition being forced out of business or proximity to a public transit system or whatever.
true. there are several town down here that Wal-Mart is literally the only thing for many miles and they all load up on sunday or once a month with everything they're going to need for a long time.

    You need better standards.

Where do I buy? Headphones? Amazon. Computer? Newegg. Bike parts? Ebay/Amazon/etc. Shirts? Ebay/Amazon. Shoes? Ebay or sporting goods. Mp3 Player? Ebay. PC games? Steam. Cars? Ebay/AutoTrader (both times I bought a 3kgt).

Just not enough selection at a big-box retailer for me. And since 99% of everything is made in China these days...why not compare online?

While you're waiting for your stuff to ship, I'm already enjoying mine. Like you said, it all comes from China, so...

In any event, I don't spend a lot on "stuff". I don't need much, at this point in life. Already bought it all, years ago.

Buying clothes at ebay, now, eh? So, you graduated from the thrift shop? Congrats.

It also depends on what time of the month you go to walmart. Even the clercks told me not to come at the begining of the month.

Thrift shop is my #1 go-to place for clothes. Unfortunately i'm in ZE FAZHERLAND, so finding a good thrift-store is kinda hard. All of my sweaters and jeans that I bought prior to PCS'ing came from Goodwill.

Nothing I want is so urgent that I have to settle for "what's in stock" as opposed to buying what I truly want online.
