I can see the promos for next weeks Bears/Packers match-up:
A clash for the NFC North. Somebody has to eventually win it, because those are the rules.

and the eagles/cowgirls are any better?
As much as it pains me to say, the Eagles are playing well right now. They should beat the Cowturds by a couple of TDs. December and Cowturds wins don't go together.

I really feel for the Chefs...Andy Reid gained some notoriety in the Philly area for being a buffoon of a coach>> here is one of his latest #1 draft picks prior to him leaving>>>
Eagles Cut Firefighter Danny Watkins | Crossing Broad (the comments are particularly telling lol) I don't know why national sports media is in love with him.
Except for Reid, I actually like the Chefs but think they would do much better with any other coach.
You have to give some credit to Chip Kelly - but in spite of what Arizona did - its going to be a tough time in Seattle.

Not a fan of either team (Go Panthers!) but the Cowboys have been putting up points at least. if not for Jerry Jones constantly meddling (and hiring Monte Kiffin), Dallas could be a much better team. Chip Kelly has done well with the Eagles and they have some talent there. As far as the Bears and Packers go, both teams are horrifically injury depleted and are just shells of their former selves at this point.
I'm hoping it's at least competitive.
Agreed. Reid may be a wonderful person, but he isn't a wonderful coach. They played a soft schedule this year which ballooned the record and made things look better than they were, and the Chiefs are filthy with talent on defense. I expect in the next year or two as their opponents rotate they'll get brought back down to reality: They're a .500 team at best that lacks an offense, with questionable coaching calls.
Fun fact: Carolina can finish anywhere from 1st seed to 6th seed. If Carolina loses and NO and SF win, they're a 6th. If Carolina wins, SF wins and Seattle loses next week they're a 1 seed. Should be an interesting game day next weekend seeing how much things can shake up.
disagree about KC being a .500 team. but i guess we'll find out, won't we?
Is it just me, or does the Packers/Bears 'playoff' next weekend seem pre-ordained?
Good God, Detroit and it's opponents couldn't have been more cooperative...
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality
Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.
Don't get me wrong, winning is winning, but out of 6 games against opponents with winning records, they've gone 2-4 (and 9-0 against opponents at or under .500). I give them credit for winning the games against teams with losing records, but finishing under .500 against teams with winning records doesn't impress me enough to think that they are significantly above average. I think balancing those out, they end up around Dallas, Philly, Baltimore, GB and Chicago kind of area. That said, I don't think that they're as weak as everyone seems to think (nor was their schedule), I just don't think that they're as strong as their record indicates.
But, against opponents with winning records:
Clinched
Denver - 6-3 (6-0 against opponents at or under .500)
Seattle - 4-3 (8-0 against opponents at or under .500)
Carolina - 4-3 (7-1 against opponents at or under .500)
New England - 4-3 (7-1 against opponents at or under .500)
Indy - 4-4 (6-1 against opponents at or under .500)
Cincinnati - 3-3 (7-2 against opponents at or under .500)
Bubble:
Dallas - 1-5 (7-2 against opponents at or under .500)
Philly - 2-4 (7-2 against opponents at or under .500)
New Orleans - 6-3 (4-2 against opponents at or under .500)
Chicago - 3-2 (5-5 against opponents at or under .500)
Green Bay - 2-4 (5-3-1 against opponents at or under .500)
San Diego: 5-3 (3-4 against opponents at or under .500)
Miami: 4-4 (4-3 against opponents at or under .500)
Baltimore: 2-3 (6-4 against opponents at or under .500)
on that note, i think denver is doing an amazing job this season. i also think that you have to have a spectacular offense like theirs if you're going to allow your opponent to score so much. unfortunately, KC really only faced the "tougher" opponents in the 2nd half of the season, when injuries already took their toll (chargers game being a case in point). KC's offense is still middle of the pack, but it's sufficiently good to win games--provided that the D is strong. and that's precisely what has started falling apart. i attribute that less to the caliber of opponents than i do to team problems.
Guy Running Up Score in Online “Madden” Game Turns Out to be Bill Belichick
By PFM Staff Updated: December 26, 2013
An online “Madden ’25″ video game player using the gamertag “HoodieLord6969″ who has been continuously running up the score against his cyber opponents was revealed today to be none other than New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick himself.
“Yeah, that ‘HoodieLord’ guy is a total dick,” said Josh Baker, 14, of Oak Grove IL, whose Indianapolis Colts lost to Belichick’s Patriots by a score of 58-3 late Wednesday evening. “Every time I play him, he builds up these massive leads by the start of the fourth quarter. And even when there’s like, thirty seconds left in the game and he’s ahead by four or five touchdowns, he’s still throwing bombs, and trying to get extra TD’s just to run up the score. What an asshole.”
“Look, it’s not up to me to stop my digital offense,” said Belichick when informed of the teenager’s comments. “It’s up to Josh to stop my digital offense. If he doesn’t like me passing deep late in the game, all he has to do is press the X button, select my WR icon, then use the D-pad to shade the post route I keep burning his ass with.”
In addition to his penchant for driving up the score, other gamers have accused Belichick of specific rules violations.
“He’s definitely using cheat codes,” remarked Milwaukee’s Allyson Flynn, 16. “He always seems to know exactly when I have a blitz called, or if I’m setting up a screen to a RB. There’s no doubt he’s running some program that shows him what plays I’m calling. But when I used my headset to tell him that I thought he was a cheating jerk, he just grumbled something about ‘misinterpreting the rulebook.’”
Belichick has remained unwilling to address the charges of improper game conduct.
“I’m not going to get into any of that. I’m just trying to focus on next week’s game right now,” he said, referring to his upcoming match on Friday against 12-year old Connor Baringer of San Antonio,TX.
Belichick is currently trying to insert a line of code into the game’s files that would allow his avatar to refuse to shake hands with opposing coaches.
