    a bit the same here not the most popula on jap seen ,a very underestimated car ,a bit like marmite you love or hate them,i love um.its a good good feeling when you beat a car that cost £100k or more puts a smile on my face every time,the only badge on my car is gto on back as we dont have may american cars over here poeple think it a farrari.back in the day i had a 4'7 smokey and the bandit trans am.when they were worth nothing i see there fetching good money now.

    And of course the only reason that it was called the 3000GT in the US was because of the Pontiac GTO, In Europe it was called the 3000GT because of the Ferrari GTO

    It was called GTO in Japan because of Toyota's history with the 2000GT and the TRD 3000GT Supra.

    It was called 3000GT everywhere else in the world. I have no doubt that it would have had that name in Japan as well, had it not been for Toyota.

    Don't forget about the 197X Mitsubishi GTO MR. it was kinda a successor name, and I believe that cars name was in appreciation to Ferraris GTO, but I may be wrong.

    i was recently complemented on my "nice 5000GT"... so im going with there not well known.
    the basic go fast bits...
    forged short block, Billet DR1000's, 680cc injectors, meth inj, FMIC, MAFT, Apexi Neo, hotwired 255lph fuel pump.

    Most people here don't even know what a 3000GT or Stealth is, even more improbable the jdm Mitsu GTO's.
