DailyTech - NRA Blames Video Games for Violent Crimes, Then Releases Shooter Game

ok, now this offends me. when the NRA's exec VP decides to scapegoat by insinuating that we need 1st amendment restrictions to "shore-up" 2nd amendment rights....there needs to be some shitcanning going on. the enemy isn't the fucking constitution. i instantly lose all respect for anyone who tries to blame games, music, movies, etc. PEOPLE are the x-factor, not media, guns, weapon magazines, etc.

...although i understand the nuances, an M1 does not have the "scary look" of an AR15

Either way, its gonna be interesting...

I don't think that will fly in high advocacy states.

I remember reading in school about a certain government that tried to impose its will on free citizens. I believe the indifference caused the Revolutionary War.

That's what policy like this leads to...

There's a very heated debate going on in there... I love when gun control advocates use words and phases like "logical", "common sense", and "progression" to add ink to a constitutional amendment.

I understand what you're saying, but the video game the NRA released is a basic target practice game. It is no COD, MW, etc. I think blaming video games is a cop out, also. However, with parents today failing to establish with their children, that "it's just a game", and kids entire lives revolving around FPS type games, there probably is a bit of blame to be placed, somewhere.

It's basic desensitization, and lack of proper understanding of the real life consequences. There is some culpability. To what degree, or to what party? I don't know; no one truly does. My opinion is that games/music aren't the leading contributor(by a large margin), rather insufficient education. In depressed urban areas, music/games probably are a huge factor. Again, we can flip this right back to education.

i disagree. germany has incredibly low gun homicide, and it is the world capital in generating music the censors want to ban.
