Drag racing a 3/S is the fatest way to break it. So foregoing the drags isn't always an issue of fear, unless of course you mean fear of a repair bill.

And there is always the stigma that drag racing is lower on the pyramid than auto-x or road course driving. However that doesn't mean that there isn't an art to drag racing.

Kevin you should come to NG13, I'm sure you could find some whipper-snapper to go toe to toe with you in all the events. And I think there will be a good NA car to compete with Don if the guy signs up to race. I can't speak for his racing experience but I would be interested to see how his car compares on power.

Levi, I thank God that you continually show up to tell me how little I know about, well...everything.

NG13 isn't too likely, so my benighted status is likely to continue.

I do suck at drag racing. But we do it just to take the trophies home, Someone has to run that class. Of course we took first place. WE were the only NA that ran. WTF. No fun in that.
Anyways we will be ready this year to hit each and every event. I hope my son Ryan will be there to drive the auto cross event as I just can't seem to find my way around the cones. LOL.
AS far as road course, no issues there for me. Ryan and I drive the same there. The importent thing though is our car. It has taken me a while to realize that there is not much action going on in the NA world.
Nothing to compete with, and for sure No respect. LOL. So we now set our sights on TT cars. Hell, no fun beating mustangs. LOL. So we are going after ANY AWD TT (Our plateform) car supporting less than 16 lbs boost. (10 lbs boost FWD)
WE are Still at 10 to 1 slugs, so that's about our limit. Maybe eating a couple of TT cars will get some respect. LOL
Our TX gathering last week ended up with only 1/8 mile drags and NO Dyno. Shit happens. We will Dyno Dec 8TH and post results. 1/4 mile tracks are closed for the season. Had to drive the car to Austin and back for the TXG, so did not race hard.
God I hate braking a trans every time we drag. Anyways, did a nice easy run, a little wheel hop, had to get out of it twice. But ended up running a 9.549@ 75.76 mph. I had just put a few new item on the car and only finished the car a few hours earlier. So this is with no tune as well. Hows that for pre 2013 NG hype.

Cue facepalm. You made a generality and I offered up some perspective, don't cry about it. Not everything posted, even if you are quoted, is expressly meant for just your information only.

But I'll throw this back out there, this "kid" will gladly go to toe to toe with you in all of the events. I'm not afraid to race my car and some friendly competition just makes the events that much more fun.

Don I wasn't referring to your car or you racing, I know you will race. Been there, seen that. There is a local STL guy with an 3.5L mtx car that I would like to see run. I'm failry certain he will attend the NG, I just don't know if he will do any racing. I would be interested to see how his setup compares.

Don, I have respect for the builds you create, but I see you post constantly about beating stock TTs and I just can't let it keep getting said without some comparing data.

The only time my car ever even ran under 80 MPH in the 1/8 is when pretty much everything about it was hosed and I was running wastegate boost. Even then it would trap higher than 75. I would have to dig through some time slips, but I think the slowest actual run I have ever run is around 78 with a bad tune, pump gas, 6 PSI, one 9b, and one 3/4 blown DSM 13G.

I am sure your car is fast for a non turbo, but I think you tend to underestimate what a TT running correctly, even on low boost, can do.

Are you a director now - curious way to post.

    Who is crying?

I am merely pointing out you have no ability/inclination to hear your words with the ears of others.

As to the other, yes - I heartily agree to the competitive benefits of friendly competition.

Also please note my reticence to abuse my car for the first time while 800 miles from home.
