My DR1400 project started today

It's about time for an update so here goes......

The cf tailgate arrive and was duly shipped up to Bolton to have the lexan rear window trimmed and fitted.

The custom one-piece prop was fitted and worked a treat. That combined with the smaller Tilton flow control valve, Launch control being set up and used, Running 25/30 psi tyre pressure front and rear and shedding another 35 kgs resulted in not breaking anything last time out. All this meant I could spin at will without breaking stuff.

Having achieved that I have decided it is time to try and find the rest of the power That we haven't been using yet. :twisted:

Changes for next time.

The dog box is currently being rebuilt and will be sporting A new custom brace around the front diff area of the Bell housing.

The front and rear engine mounts and bracketry Will be replaced by Nelson's motor mount plate.

The engine is out and has been sent off to Premier Power to have shims cut for the solid pivot lifters I have.They will also be degreeing the DR race grind cams I have and the head stud torque will be checked.

For race purposes the exhaust system will be replaced from the down pipes back with 2 x 3" Side exit un-silenced pipes that will come out just behind the NSF wheel.

I will also be running screamer pipes which have been known to release 100-150 hp in high horsepower applications!

Hopefully with the cam change, solid lifters, Screamer pipes and short un-silenced exhausts we will have removed any exhaust restriction and should be able to run proper boost and quite a bit more timing? I'm hoping we might see quicker spool too!

With the tailgate and exhaust I think we will see a further 50-60 kg weight saving this time around too.

Curious to see how loud the open dump is. My car is open dump as well but it doesn't run. Hopefully you picked up some power somewhere along the line.

Things have been moving slowly in the off season but are now starting to happen. Just took delivery of my new lithium ion battery that weighs a huge 3.2kg! That will save 7kg over my already light Odyssey PC925.
