I'd rather eat its depressing market value selling it or id rather keep my car than part it out no matter the circumstances. Unless parting it meant bringing it back to as stock as possible then selling it.

Adam-Well I guess it depends on what he expects to get. Selling outright is an option if you don't expect much if any more than a clean stock car. Unfortunately, that seems to be the way it is now

pics of the car? I've seen your name for a while on the forums, but have never seen your car. Didn't you have a pic of a black or really dark purple stealth with a 99 wing as your sig pic?

    Here's a couple pics.

I've been down the "selling a car with mods" road before, you never get anywhere close to what you paid for them. I'm not in a hurry to sell it, so I can take my time and take it back to stock for the most part, I still have the original hood too. I think I'll get more for the mods selling them separately, so I'm leaning towards that direction, but who knows, if someone sees pics of it when I put it up for sale, they may make it worth my while to sell with everything on it. Some good advice and info given, thanks guys.

sounds like a nice car, but definitly not my taste in hood. i would definitly put it back as much to stock then sell it. Im in the same boat. except i have 2 engine builds and a ton of different turbo setups that has eaten up countless cash.

Beautiful car. Would be a shame to part it OR SELL IT. You should keep it! Not worth selling for pennies on the dollar. You've already spent the money modding with quality parts. Maintenance should be much cheaper and easier

    Agreed.

You have money and sweat equity that can't be recovered (never happens anyway), so if you have a place to stash it, do that and drive/enjoy it when you can - while there is no reason for stupid optimism over appreciation, the value isn't likely to go down...just keep the "For Sale" sign handy for "Cars n Coffee"-type occasions - someone may just surprise you.

Really nice looking car. The hood really has to go in order to sell it IMO. The sad news is the car is only worth probably ~$5000. But I would love you to prove me wrong and get a lot more for it. Its sad that these cars don't have much value to them these days.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm going to have to take stock of all the parts I have that can be swapped out and see what those parts are going for before making up my mind one way or the other.

That's the mentality I have had for the past 5-6 years. I stopped driving the car regularly in 2006. Moved to FL full time in 2007, and came back to TX in late 2010, the car was in Dallas most of that time. I probably should have sold in 2006, but didn't want to because of what you said.

If you don't 'need' to sell it(which I'm sure you don't), and it's not taking up room you need...man, I'd keep it. For what it might bring, you'll get more occasional enjoyment out of it.
