Looks good! A clean VC does wonders for the engine bay. I just got mine powdercoated and opted for white letters instead of black.

It's purely aesthetic, to make the rear offset relative to the fender match the front. The rear hubs on these cars are set back some 5-10mm (haven't measured it exactly) further in than the fronts, so I just wanted to make it look even.
