Would look better with a black top. I also think gloss would look a little better than flat black. I want to do this now!

What about doing something like rhino lining instead of paint? I've thought about doing that before on mine. The more I dig into my bay, the more I scratch it up. And I hate scratches.

i debated on this. i did end up going with a satin black though. baadvr4 can attest to how nice it looks. i'd recommend it to anyone. gloss paint in a bay just detracts from the parts you want to show off, imho.

I very much beg to differ. The factory finish on the engine bays is a matte/muted version of the exterior color. A fresh, gloss finish looks 100x better.

I'm gonna have to go with em here, no matter what color I think it should be gloss.

on Hans' satin black car, the engine bay looks amazing. but that's because it matches the rest of the car.

To each their own though... I only have shitty engine bay pictures... bleh

too much red, em. the polish/chrome in the bay would look much better on a black background--especially one muted. the contrast would be MUCH greater.

I went with a semi-gloss black. The flat looked too much like primer to me and just looked dirty. I'll try to grab some pics later. I have to rewire my click click start fix back in.
