I speak from personal experience, and I give links to direct and neutral sources whenever possible. After nearly 20 years of using Apple products (from the shitty ones to the ones I've been quite content with), I feel a bit more qualified to talk about where they excel and where they fall flat. You, on the other hand, talk out of your ass.

For those that don't want this only viable fix, they are repeatedly told that they would receive a full and easy refund if they want. Yeah, Apple sucks.

Now, if you pulled your head out from the sand for more than a few moments, maybe you'd have a better understanding of what exactly is going on and who, in reality, the greater villains in the tech industry are.

shaun, you can quote useless examples all day long. how LONG did it take apple to respond to these type of problems? for comparison, how long did it take nintendo to respond to broken wrist-straps? how long does it take for MS to respond to similar types of security flaws in its OS? i'm not talking out of my ass--only an itard like you would perceive it as thus. the give-a-shit-about-the-customer factor at apple has dropped off a cliff. it has everything to do with the ungodly profit margins. since apple makes money hand-over-fist, it figures it doesn't have to care about all of those little things that its competitor MS does. like expedient patching of security flaws. like playing-nice with 3rd party software. like not requiring all users to chiefly be stuck with proprietary formats that don't translate well to non-apple stuff.

it's also utter hogwash that you think this blogger is unfairly after apple instead of nvidia. this consumer didn't buy directly from nvidia--he bought from apple. if apple CHOOSES to source nvidia's crap, then apple gets to deal with what happens when nvidia fails.

what i have notice from our long, less than resolved banter (never argue with stupid people, they drag you down to their level & beat you with experience)--is that the reality distortion field is contagious. if you think the OP is an entitled douchbag, just because he insists a tech company stand behind it's product...then you're daffier than i thought. hell, RRoD seems tame by comparison to the stuff i've seen apple do.

honestly, there ought to be a law against conducting business "the apple way". and by "apple way" i mean:

1. blatently rip-off existing tech & market it in some nifty, clever way--pretend that you invented it.
2. file 763,456,452,012,302 patents on it--regardless of how banal, stupid, or rubbish they actually are.
3. file 285,201,409,795 preliminary injunctions against any would-be competitors that prevent them from bringing any product to market.
4. scream bloody murder about your "intellectual property" being stolen.
5. release newer, updated versions of your product "now mysteriously trouble free" (or as trouble free as crapple gets).
6. encourage existing consumers to upgrade for a "fix" to known issues, rather than fixing a 1-year old product with design flaws.
7. rinse, repeat.

if i'm going to be called a "tool" by an itard, i'll happily wear that name with pride. apple is every bit the antichrist, machiavellian, totalitarian junta that it's original "1984" ad made MS out to be. the most stunningly perplexing thing about that fact is that the itards are too blinded by their terminal cases of reality-distortion to actually see it.

How fast does Apple respond to issues? According to you, never fast enough. In reality, we're talking about a few weeks. Enough time to get a grasp of the issue, pinpoint a solution and send it to the people to be implemented. Here's some "useless examples" for you:

  (solution provided about 2-3 weeks after the problem was first discovered)

  (16 weeks to determine how widespread the problem is, come up with a solution, and send out the solution)

  (less than a week)

If you really want to compare it to MS responses, you'll find it much more beneficial to avoid that topic:
