Due to the fully acknowledged large market share difference and the undying popularity of grandpa-clothes embracing fashion offenders, there is, no doubt, more hipsters out there actively using PCs than those actively using Macs. Just an observation, but that's the trend I'm seeing around campuses and the 18-28 age group.

Why does Apple keep marketing to them? I don't know. It sells, for now.

Are most Apple users hipsters? Not the ones I know.

Are most Windows users greasy, snorting, pocket-protector wearing, computer nerds with no girlfriends? You guys tell me.
if the majority of apple users around you are not hipsters, then you live in an alternate dimension.

Also it seems as if you acknowledge that basically all hipsters use apple, they just aren't the majority. I come to this conclusion because you didn't even try and say hipsters use Microsoft.

Definitely not denying they exist out there.

Then again, I know a hipster that is absolutely in love with buttered toast. Doesn't make me a buttered toast hater.

does he feel he's superior to the rest of humanity because he likes buttered toast?

is he willing to pay 3x fair market price for buttered toast simply because it's the "hip" thing to do?

does he denigrate those who prefer buying their buttered toast ingredients from aldi's or costo--instead of buying it pre-made at panera?

    ...

let's at least make an apples to apple comparison here. if you replace "buttered toast" with "apple products", i can answer all three of those with an emphatic YES for virtually every apple owner i know (with some minor exceptions, possibly including shaun--but for all i know, he's a hipster trying desperately NOT to be identified as such).

This does sound like a lot of PC users I know. You being one of them.

Every post you make seethes with it.

First, define "fair market" price. Are we talking crap plastic cases and laptops that commonly fail after 2 years or depreciate to nearly 50% it's original value after the first? I get a lot of these coming in and out of my office every day. Dell, HP, Sager, you name it.

Second, if PC's ever managed to become "hip" again, you'd be having the same problem. What do you do with the "enemies" that breach your inner gates? It's a good thing Microsoft doesn't market to hipsters. Oh wait... they already do:

Hey, some hipsters are on a budget too you know. They at least still go to Costco for the lumberjack T's.

    wow...that's JUST like apple.

apple is like bmw in the USA. no matter how much the car SHOULD be worth...it's actually worth more because people want the "prestige" of owning one. no thanks. oh, and let's not forget the chronic apple overheating issues. apple is lightheartedly referred to as the techie version of a condom--because if you use ANY of their devices on your lap for more than 5 minutes at a time, you'll never get a girl pregnant (future research pending).

    p.s.

i don't think i'm better than the rest of humanity because i have a PC. i think i'm better than all the itards because i paid WAY, WAY less to have more capabilities and greater freedom to do what i please.
