I'm going to be venturing into this soon as well, I want to see if I can make a decent one out of Aluminum. and following a full bottom skin for the rest of the car. Hopefully I can save the bottom of my car from the roads here with it.

We didn't get much interest honestly, don't think it will happen.

We were talking about just the splitter by itself.

yeahhh, it's one of those things that's hard to freight around, and there is a legality issue as well :|

I'm contemplating making one that extends out 10cm at speed (just to get around the legality of it)

Having a splitter here is highly illegal so I've been told, but there is a car running around that has had one on it for a couple of years now.

I'm not overly sure why they're claiming them to be illegal, some say because of "dismemberment" in the event of hitting a pedestrian, others say it might fall off. But we'll see when I finish mine.

That would be the first I've ever heard of any legality issues with body modifications. Are push bars and winches illegal too where you're at? I don't want to get by one of those. either. :P

not sure what a Push bar is...but we call the big bars on the front of 4x4's (you call them trucks for some reason) bull bars, and yes they are illegal, the actual ruling states basically that any protrusion on the front of a vehicle must not be designed to allow additional damage to any pedestrians.

we now have the equivalent of bullbars made from plastic you should see it lol

I suppose it would have to come with a sticker that says "off road use only" then. LOL!

I don't think i've ever bought any aftermarket product that didn't have one. I think that's their way of saying, use at your own risk.
