I've always thought these cars were pretty cool.
Actually you're the one that is wrong, it's been proven that the 2jz n/a can take the pounding that the TT engine can. It's also been proven that they are near identical from the factory save the difference in the pistons. Hell Dave H went 9s NA-T..which pissed off a lot of TT guys because you can just turbo an N/A poopra, change the head gasket, and go on your merry way.

Is it forged or cast crank?
First of all, enough with the attitude toward me in the recent posts. Second of all, Dave does NOT have a stock GE, he has JE pistons Caprillo rods, and a GTE crank... I've talked to Dave before when I was in search of help trying to troubleshoot problems with my car.
Here you go...
1994 Toyota Supra NA-T 1/4 mile trap speeds 0-60 - DragTimes.com
1) I said his 9 second pass was on a stock bottom end. I never mentioned his 8 second pass, his setup has changed multiple times.
2) Stop being dramatic and learn how to deal with someone disagreeing with you. Attitude toward you in recent posts? I have like 5 posts in the past week, one of which was giving you the nod for having the sc300 described right, the other telling you that you are wrong (cause you are) about what the n/a block will take. It's the same damn thing internally sans pistons and squirters as the TT model.
If anything, you're thinking of the VVT-i version in later model 2jz's in luxury models like the 97+SC. Those engines are supposedly weaker for going na-T yes. That was one of the big things people talked about on club na-t..which engine to go with vs. staying away from.
3) This:
Is bullshit and childish. No one called you an idiot, you gave bad info on the internals of the engine and you got called on it respectfully by someone that's built and been around 2jzs for a bit. It probably predates you, but Gene had a monster Supra that he built himself. Hell I was just researching the swap and I knew the internal differences. You're going to take a long break because people disagree with you on the internet? Wow.. I mean you have to do what you have to do to be happy but shit man, you need to grow thicker skin.17-10, 00:45

What should I do? TT Swap, 1jz swap, or NA-T? - Club NA-T Forums
will that trans really only take 400's? i thought the 5 speeds were really strong? the V160 trans cost about $3000 plus the cost of a clutch to go with it... thats quite a chunk of change.Tranny limits
Non-turbo automatic (A340E) - 325-350 depending on who you ask with a good cooler.
Non-turbo 5-speed (W58) - 400-425 with a good clutch.
Soarer automatic - high 300's with a good cooler.
TT Automatic - 400?
TT Getrag 6-speed (V160) - 1000hp+
MKIII Supra Turbo tranny (R154) - ~600?
Note: The aforementioned automatic transmission's ability to handle the stated hp levels is much more dependant on driving style. Power stalls and brake boosting build up lots of heat and combined with not giving the transmission fluid time cool down between hard runs will cause the clutch packs to break down much more quickly.
the basic go fast bits...
forged short block, Billet DR1000's, 680cc injectors, meth inj, FMIC, MAFT, Apexi Neo, hotwired 255lph fuel pump.

Just a fun Daily Driver.
The 5-speed trans really is that weak.
