ok as much as im not a Ford V8 fan ,these bitches get up and go, and they have some serious street cred here in australia. can promise you on the road it will make a mustang, camaro and probably even some corvettes look like toys.
the Typhoon (6T) is a WAY better choice i agree but hey, i guess the FORD US likes their V8s just too much.

the sho is a SEDAN. we need an AWD ecoboost v6 COUPE. either build it on the focus or the fusion platform--but either way, ford needs to build one. it would cost less than half what a GTR costs, offer close to the same level of performance (with only a few tweaks) and would sell like HOTCAKES.

RWD domestic fanbois behind the wheel at FROD are blind. that is all.
I agree that a TT V6 coupe would be super sexy. Ford won't make a coupe version of the Fusion since they are pretty much all-in with the Mustang in the coupe department. The Focus is probably the only platform for this.

they are seriously looking into putting ecoboost in a mustang. but it WON'T be awd. i agree that a focus coupe fastback would be the ideal platform. likely able to keep curb weight to ~3400 lbs or less (which is GREAT for awd). needs to have a low drag shape (unlike mustang). i still say a reborn probe would be ideal.

ecoboost v6 is ~350-360hp. the protypes had over 400hp. ford isn't pushing them more because it will piss off the v8 fanbois to know that headers, intake and exhaust on their beloved 5.0's can't hold a candle to an ECU flash and fuel mods on a tt v6.

V8 fanbois? Sounds like you're calling the kettle black.

A V8 is a DIFFERENT drive. There is so much slander in this thread it makes most of you look like assholes.

As for the original post, I'd LOVE to see this car in the states. I've been wanting to see another G8-like vehicle in the market.

The V8 in the Falcon makes it front heavy and poor handling.... So yeah, turbo 6 ftw.

The V8 is the new Coyote all alloy engine IIRC so wieght is pretty good. As it's smaller than the last one they had to bolt on the charger to get respectable power. The F6 Typhoon is much better though. But very similar in weight.

no politely STFU and GTFO. i can find a RWD v8 sedan about a bajillion times easier than i can find an AWD coupe with more than 4 cylinders that's turbocharged.

im tired of them bring back "muscle cars" and making them 4 door i dont remember many 4 door falcons being the car of choice. let alone a 4 door charger. its dumb to bring back a icon for the name but not use any of what made it great. here is a new 2012 3000gt its a 4 cylinder supercharged 4 door wagon.....

However mis-guided this effort may be, I am gratified to see continued production of "high performance" cars.

Most of you missed the '70s, when we thought the entire performance industry was going away, and domestic cars were supposed to be "tamper-free".

Imagine if Top Gear was featuring NA Ford Fairlanes and the like...

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

Hell yeah! I joke....however the 6's in those were just torque animals for what they were in the time....they really got up and boogied.

I mean hell I don't have a clue about ford but I would take a stab at guessing after the 70's the demand had moved to 4 door's....we never saw another 2 door GT past the.....was it XB GT 351? Dad had one those 10 years ago. Good memorys....

if you've seen one of these new falcons in the flesh, 4 doors or 2...they are a sweet looking car. All the right parts in all the right places which is weird for a 2011 car.....usually they are swoopy as hell.
