The Falcon is a fantastic looking car... Hopefully if they bring it here they don't booger it up with Ford's new 3 bar grille...

IPD, Ford's going to look at a list like that and realize there's plenty of competition in RWD sedans and see that they're missing out on a possible sales segment.

I just don't see that selling well here. If a buyer is looking for a performance car from Ford, they choose the Mustang. Period. When you add two doors to the mix, as was already stated, there are a TON of tried and true vehicles already out there, with better performance and better looks.

A V8 is a DIFFERENT drive. There is so much slander in this thread it makes most of you look like assholes.

As for the original post, I'd LOVE to see this car in the states. I've been wanting to see another G8-like vehicle in the market.
x2... Until you've felt the tq a high hp v8 puts out you can't really speak to a car being fail based on having one. I fucking wish my goat were supercharged...I just love the get up and go.

Not everyone wants a bloody mustang. This isn't a sports car it's a grand tourer. This is exactly why other nations laugh at us when it comes to talking cars... We try to make every car into a sports car when it's intent was never that. Hell the 3000 isn't even a true sports car, it's a grand tourer as well...so is my Goat.

    Amen, brother.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

-high five- Nothing better than rolling in bumper to bumper traffic at idle while other folks have to give it gas. I HAVE to hold my brakes with the car in gear at a stop or coming out of a space, otherwise the car tries to drive...at idle.

...except that you can't carry a family of four in a Mustang comfortably. People wanting sports car performance AND practicality will buy the Falcon GT the same way they've been buying the G8.

Read my words again. I don't think anyone will buy a FORD performance sedan. If they want a sport sedan, there are better choices out there already. The only time people consider Ford for any performance reasons is with the Mustang. If you simply want a sedan, then the Ford Fusion is a good choice (based on reviews I've seen, never driven one.) Stepping up to a sports sedan is a whole new ballpark, and Ford is the undeniable latecomer to the party.

Except they've been making the Falcon sedan for years in Australia where it's plenty popular... Which is where the G8 came from.... /facepalm

So what's popular in Australia is certain to be popular here? I don't think so. Ford has had great success with the Taurus here, and it sucked selling in Australia. The Mondeo sold well in Europe, but sucked over here (the Contour.) And bringing up the G8 is hardly helping your case. It never sold well here. If it had, it would have been rebranded instead of outright killed.

The G8 was going to be rebranded as a new Caprice (or whatever the heck they were going to call it)

Plenty of people buy RWD sports sedans, why can't Ford grab some of the market for a low investment cost?
